I was thrilled to win the Hwahae box and grateful for the chance to try these products! The pure ingredients gave me peace of mind to use them on my sensitive skin. I've been avoiding drugstore cosmetics due to frequent blemishes, no matter how carefully I chose based on ingredients. But this simple formulation had me cheering as I started using it! After cleansing, I applied it with a cotton pad and then patted it in. Surprisingly, it felt more hydrating than I expected for a water-based toner. It wasn't drying at all and provided good moisture, which I loved. Layering it worked well under makeup too! (On days when I need long-lasting makeup, I usually apply BB cream right after toner, as emulsions make my makeup break down quickly due to oiliness around my nose.) In the evening, after using an exfoliating toner, I'd layer this 3-4 times, which seemed to address deep dryness. I really felt the hydration! If it continues to suit my skin, this could become my holy grail toner that I'll use generously!
Despite the great initial experience, I started getting tiny bumps from day 4-5. Since I was using the whole line, I can't be sure if it was the toner, but when I switched back to my usual toner and stopped the Soon Jung line, the bumps went away. A few days later, I tried the Soon Jung line again, and within a day, 20-30 bumps appeared, along with itching and redness. Even when I stopped using the emulsion, cream, and repair cream and only used the toner, I still got some bumps, so I've stopped using everything for now. I'm waiting for my skin to calm down and strengthen before trying again. If it still doesn't work, I'll have to give up on it, which would be a real shame. I feel guilty and sorry for saying this product doesn't suit me, especially since I received it as part of an event, but it's the truth that it doesn't work well for my skin.
Even with good ingredients, I recommend testing before purchasing!
