As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I decided to try out this Melareturn Sun Serum in hopes of escaping the desperate summer situation where my skin breaks down, puffs up, and becomes a mix of sweat and oil under the scorching sun. I was only familiar with sunscreens, sun cushions, and sun sticks, so a sun serum was new to me. But it turns out you just apply it after your skincare routine, just like other sun protection products! I have combination skin prone to acne and blemishes. My forehead and nose are oily, but they get very dry and tight without proper hydration. Now, let me share the pros: 1. Scent In my opinion, the fragrance is incredibly gentle and soothing. I'm quite sensitive to scents, and usually, the first thing I do when opening a new product is to smell it. When I did that with this one, I was pleasantly surprised! 2. Hydration Being a serum, it definitely provides a boost of hydration. I usually moisturize before applying sunscreen to prevent dryness, but when I tried this product on slightly dry skin, it actually helped alleviate the dryness! 3. White Cast One of the most annoying things when applying makeup is having a ghostly white face. That's why I always choose sun protection products without white cast. It's incredibly watery, which means it doesn't feel sticky when applied. In fact, it left my skin feeling hydrated. I think it would work great as a makeup base - it's definitely a product that plays well with others! And best of all, it doesn't feel suffocating on the skin, which I really appreciate. Ingredients I've heard it contains high concentrations of niacinamide, glutathione, tranexamic acid, and 4X CICA components. It also boasts 10 types of hyaluronic acid, so not only does it promise brightening effects, but it seems like it'll be great for overall skin health too. Packaging The packaging is a clean, white design. It's also compact, making it perfect for carrying around. You can easily slip it into your pocket and pull it out whenever you need a touch-up - it's just the right size! Sun Protection For me, the most crucial aspect of any sun care product is its UV protection. The Melarithm Sun Serum offers SPF50+ and PA++++. From what I've researched, the more plus signs and higher the number, the better the protection. So this sunscreen definitely scores high on sun protection! I haven't found any downsides yet.
