Just for its ability to control acne, it deserves 5 stars! There's a strong alcohol scent when applying, so those sensitive to fragrances should be cautious. If you have sensitive skin, do a patch test before use. Although it's a toner, it's not very hydrating. I'm currently using it in combination with other toners. To reduce dryness, apply and let it absorb after cleansing, then layer with other toner products. My routine is toner (Calming Liquid) - toner (Cynic First Essence) - serum - cream, in that order.

As someone with oily skin, alcohol isn't necessarily bad for me, so I deliberately sought this out. I always use it after popping blemishes or when acne erupts. I'm not sure about its soothing effects, but I make sure to use it two or three times a week, if not daily. I used to stock up on several bottles duty-free, but now I'm anxious because I can't buy it that way anymore. It's a bit pricey... If you can't get it duty-free, you have to pay a premium. Also, I can't find it anywhere except the official website.
