I bought this mascara because the ingredients aren't bad, and it didn't irritate my eyes. The formula doesn't dry out easily, and it coats the brush well, making application smooth. It's soft but doesn't clump, and I love that there's no excess fallout even by the end of the workday. Since the formula doesn't dry out quickly, it's easy to clean excess product from between the brush bristles - just a quick wipe at the tube opening does the trick. I always clean the brush before applying, and even with frequent cleaning, the brush hasn't deteriorated. It's quite durable! The only, but major, drawback is the smudging. It smudges so much you can't tell if it's meant to be smudged or smoky. A light smudge looks like dark circles, while heavy smudging makes you look like the overworked supporting actress in a drama series. I have straight lashes that tend to droop quickly due to heavy brows. I've been using Estée Lauder for over 10 years. A Lotte department store employee strongly recommended this mascara, claiming it absolutely doesn't smudge and that all the staff use it. But as soon as I applied it, I felt like I'd bought eyeshadow with a wand attached. This mascara might suit those who say, 'My face is dry, but I prefer a matte makeup look.' My skin feels too tight for that kind of makeup, so Chanel mascara isn't for me. This mascara is so versatile! You can apply it lightly for a natural look or build it up for a more dramatic effect. I'm on my third tube!
