I received this as a gift and I'm really pleased with it! Many say the color is light, but for my skin tone (around shade 22), applying a thin layer of 201 works well. I have somewhat oily skin, and depending on my skin condition: on less oily days, it's perfect for a bare-faced look, while on oilier days, it tends to break down and fade a bit. That just shows how hydrating it is! If you have oily skin, setting powder is a must. The coverage could be better... It might get oily if you have very oily skin. There are only two shades available. - ai*****Oily SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedOct 24, 2024
The adherence is excellent, and the matte finish makes it perfect for summer rather than winter. While the coverage is light, it enhances your natural complexion, which I really appreciated. The downside is the shade range. As someone with a neutral undertone and lots of redness who usually wears shade 22, I found 201 to be too light. However, 203 was a bit dark for my natural skin tone. I wish they'd offer a 202 shade. Also, it leans cool-toned, which is a shame - I would have loved it even more if it were neutral. - op*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 3, 2024
It absorbs lightly and looks natural. Surprisingly, it has good staying power too. It seems prone to smudging. If you don't close the lid properly, it might roll away. - ye********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessMar 31, 2024
The formula is slightly thin, so it applies in a sheer layer. Despite the thin application, it covers small blemishes and redness well (though it doesn't cover things like dark spots). It has a semi-matte finish and doesn't dry too quickly. While its staying power isn't exceptional, I liked how it fades gracefully. The shade is around 17-18, with a beautiful ivory tone plus a yellow base, which I appreciated (as I don't prefer pink undertones). The scent is also mild and not overpowering, which I liked. The coverage is light. Shade 201 is lighter than 21, probably around 17-18. There are only two shades available, which is disappointing. Given that there are many other good foundations at lower price points, I'm not sure I'd recommend this one. - ch*******Dry SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessRecommendedMar 14, 2024
This is the foundation I recommend most among drugstore brands. It makes your skin incredibly smooth. They often have sales, so you can snag it at a great price. It's quite light for a shade 21. There are too few offline stores available. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 20, 2023
The foundation's design is so pretty it doubles as a decorative piece on my vanity! I tried it because I heard it applies well, and indeed, even when applied with fingers, it spreads evenly without leaving marks. It's on the thinner side, so it goes on in a light layer, which feels comfortable and not heavy at all. While it applies smoothly, I was disappointed by the lack of brightening effect and coverage compared to my skin tone. After application, my skin texture does look more refined, but when I want to look noticeably made-up, I don't reach for this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 15, 2023
It absorbs so well, making it easy to use even if you have concerns about skin texture. Over time, it can feel a bit drying and the texture seems to become slightly rough. - tl**********Combination SkinRecommendedJul 9, 2023
I loved the sample so much that I bought the full-size product. It adheres well to the skin and applies in a very thin layer, making it look like you naturally have great skin. I tend to have redness, but this evens out my complexion nicely. Plus, the ingredients must be good because it rarely causes any blemishes. There aren't many downsides, but it might not be suitable for those with oily skin or those prone to blemishes. After some time, there's a slight increase in oiliness, though it's not too severe. - kj*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedJun 28, 2023
The adherence is really excellent. It's not too drying and it's a great product to use all year round. The coverage is medium to high - it covers most imperfections except for major blemishes. The best part is that when you go out wearing this, your skin looks like a peeled egg, smooth and flawless. People often compliment me on my complexion. Now I understand why it's called 'Egg-like'! The ingredients list could be better, unfortunately. While it doesn't cause darkening, by evening time it feels slightly dry in areas that aren't oily. This product works wonderfully with a spatula, so even if it's a bit of a hassle, make sure to use one when applying! For those like me who have some blemishes, I recommend layering it thinly two or three times for better coverage. - my****Dry SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedMar 27, 2023
I absolutely adore foundations that are sheer and have a natural, skin-like finish. This one is just that - light, clear, and velvety smooth! I apply it thinly with a spatula, then pat it in with a damp wedge puff. While it's quite fluid when pumped out, it's not runny. It spreads beautifully on the face and adheres incredibly thinly. The final look can vary slightly depending on your sunscreen base (mineral vs. chemical), but what I love most is how it doesn't feel heavy right after application. It's so sheer that redness can still peek through, but you can build it up without any pilling. Though it's from the semi-matte line, it has such a beautiful glow right after application that you might mistake it for a dewy foundation. It gives that perfect 'egg-shell' finish! It starts off with a subtle glow, not too intense, and gradually settles into a semi-matte finish over time. Unless you strictly prefer matte foundations or dislike any hint of radiance, this versatile formula is suitable for year-round use, except perhaps at the height of summer. The design is both intuitive and adorable! The packaging, reminiscent of a peeled egg, perfectly represents the product's ability to give you that smooth, egg-like skin. It's so cute on my vanity, I can't help but keep glancing at it! Kudos to the designer who boldly went with an egg-top design - you have my heart! The 30ml size is standard for foundations, and its compact shape makes it perfect for travel or overnight stays. Despite its fluid and moisturizing texture, it doesn't settle into fine lines. Even areas prone to creasing like around the nose and smile lines stay smooth. With proper skincare prep, it has minimal transfer to masks and adheres well for long periods without creasing. As someone quite picky about foundations, I find myself reaching for this one often lately. The coverage is minimal. While I personally love sheer, clear-textured foundations, the Egglike Foundation offers very little coverage. Using it with concealer seems to negate its light, clear finish advantage. If you're looking for medium to high coverage, you might want to consider other product lines that focus more on coverage. The color tends to slightly fade over time. While it doesn't exactly darken, the initial radiance and glow don't maintain throughout wear without touch-ups. It's a bit disappointing. With only two shades available, I was worried the 201 shade might be too yellow for my fair skin. However, it has a nice pink undertone that should work well for cool-toned individuals who aren't extremely pale. On days when I've skimped on skincare, I noticed some skin tightness after a while, and with prolonged wear, there was slight emphasis on texture around the butterfly zone. If you have dry skin like me, make sure to prep your skin well. While writing this, I realized the ingredients aren't as gentle as I initially thought. There are quite a few fragrances listed, which seems unnecessary for a product that isn't primarily about scent. Those with sensitive skin or who are particular about ingredients might want to take note of this.
