I tried the Merzy pencil eyeliner a while back and loved its staying power, so I decided to give their tint a shot too. The longevity for the price is just... wow? It's honestly the best tint I've ever used. Even after eating, the color stays put without needing touch-ups. It stains so well that you don't even need to reapply. My friends all complimented the beautiful color and asked where it's from, so I've been recommending it left and right. The application is light and smooth too. It definitely holds its own against high-end brand tints, no doubt about it. The color is absolutely not what you see on the official website. It's not a 'my lips but better' shade at all. When you actually apply it to your lips, it's more of a fluorescent pink-coral. Make sure to try it on your lips before buying. I'm taking off one star because of this misleading color representation. - ey*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 16, 2021
Is this staining power for real? I tested it on my hand (photo attached) and tried wiping it with a tissue - it absolutely won't come off! It all stays put... On the lips, it might not be quite as intense due to natural oils or skincare products, but I'm still amazed by the staining power. And the color! I usually don't go for red shades, preferring lighter pinks or corals, and I think this would be perfect for people with similar tastes. As for the scent, it's kind of like artificial candy? Doesn't bother me much though. It's way better than having an overly greasy smell! If you don't remove the excess oil from your lips, it won't absorb well... I recommend using blotting paper or a tissue to thoroughly remove any oil from your lips before applying! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 12, 2021
1) Insane staying power 2) Absolutely smudge-proof 3) Feels moisturizing when applied, but dries to a soft, powdery finish 1) The color differs from the official website (leans towards a fluorescent hot pink) 2) Stains the lips hot pink 3) Tends to emphasize dead skin cells If you don't have a light undertone, you'll likely be disappointed with the color... Choose carefully. Check out the photo - I scrubbed it hard with water, and that's how much it stained. The staying power works hard, that's for sure! - dp******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 28, 2021
It has a lovely coral-pink hue that gives a radiant look. I really like how it applies smoothly and feels velvety on the skin. The scent is quite pleasant too! Unfortunately, the staying power of this shade isn't as impressive as some of the other colors in the range. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 9, 2020
The staying power and staining effect are absolutely top-notch... Oh my goodness, how can the color be so different from what's shown on the official website? Don't think the Hwahae reviews are exaggerated - they're spot on! I was so captivated by the swatches on the website that I ignored all the reviews, thinking 'I must have this!' But when I applied it, I was shocked to end up with hot pink lips. I didn't even use a lot - just a tiny bit on the brush. The color in the photo is from applying just a small amount, no filter, just my Galaxy's default camera. I thought maybe I hadn't applied enough, so I used the applicator tip directly - and it turned bright red! It's even more vivid than the bright red tint I unknowingly wore in middle school. The staining is so intense it won't come off... Is there really no such thing as a light, long-lasting lip color? Apply it lightly... +After two days of experimenting, I've found a way to apply it lightly. First, apply a nude base lip color, then use a lip brush to apply this product. Test it on the back of your hand first, and apply it so thinly you can barely tell it's there. Two light layers should give you the color shown on the official website. Happy! But it makes me wonder if it's worth all this effort. The photo looks a bit lighter than in real life, but in person, it's identical to the official swatch. However, the pink staining is intense, so I'm not sure how it'll look as time passes - the pink is already creeping up. It's not easy! Oh, and if you exfoliate your lips too much before applying, your natural lip color might make it look even redder and more stained. But if you have any dead skin cells, the formula can look patchy, so you need to find a balance. - ru*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 28, 2020
I'm not a fan of heavy application and don't like it when it's obvious I'm wearing lip color. That's why I prefer natural coral shades, and this color is one I absolutely adore. It's subtle and lovely. Applying it fully can be a bit much, but when I put on a thin layer, it looks naturally beautiful. The absorbs well too. The staying power is truly praiseworthy. Even after wetting it with saliva and constantly scraping it with my teeth to remove it, I noticed it was still there after 4 hours. I'm extremely satisfied. The scent was slightly disappointing. It wasn't bad per se, just something I could tolerate without much issue. In my opinion, it accentuated dead skin cells a little bit. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 22, 2020
I got this as a buy-one-get-one-free deal from Sephora, and it came as a gratis item! I tried it once, but the shade didn't suit me, so I gave it to my sister. However, the product itself seems quite good. It absorbs well, has amazing color payoff, and the staying power is impressive. The photo shows the most accurate color swatch on a Samsung phone. I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure. I'll ask my sister and add more information later! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 31, 2020
The color payoff is pretty good, and even though it has a light undertone, it's versatile enough for daily use. I've been using it regularly without any issues. The staining power is also quite good. It tends to emphasize dead skin cells a bit, so applying multiple layers isn't ideal.... - co*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 20, 2020
Despite being called a velvet tint, it didn't feel heavy or cakey. The application was light, and it had pretty good staying power. I was surprised by the mismatch between the initial color and what remained on my lips. In the bottle, it looked like a warm pink, but once applied, it left a cool-toned, vibrant pink. I strongly recommend testing it before purchasing. - ce*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 2, 2020
This tint is so moisturizing and long-lasting, I feel like I'll use it forever! I wish there were more color options available. While they've released many shades, it's hard to find stores that carry the full range.
