The color is a slightly toned-down deep pink that's absolutely gorgeous! I highly recommend it for warm-toned individuals. Whether you apply it as a full lip or gradient, the shade is just stunning. While it's a matte lipstick, it does feel a bit stiff when applying. If you have dry lips, I'd suggest using a lip balm underneath. The scent is quite strong, which might be polarizing. It has a distinct cosmetic fragrance that's quite noticeable for a lipstick. Personally, I don't mind it, but I'm still getting used to it with each application. The lipstick mechanism seems a bit faulty - it doesn't twist up smoothly and requires some force. The case appears to be the issue here. Another downside is that the lipstick applies a bit thick. While the matte formula is excellent, it's somewhat challenging to control the amount of product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedDec 29, 2018
I found it better to apply it with light taps rather than a full swipe! This product seems to attract a lot of foreign particles, unfortunately. Also, the applicator broke while I was twisting it. The clear cap gets messy quickly if you're not careful when closing it, so you need to keep wiping it clean. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSep 10, 2018
I really loved the color. In the fall of 2017, I only used this and Nature Republic's Mellow Rose. The shade was perfect for the season... It transfers too easily, so it has no staying power. When I tried to use it again a year later in fall, the lipstick smelled like paint and wouldn't apply smoothly. It felt strange, almost wooden-like... As you can see in the photo... What's going on with this product?? - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 11, 2018
While it's described as matte, it's actually more moisturizing compared to MAC's matte lip line I was deceived by the store lighting when I bought this... In the store, I thought it was a darker brick red? But as you can see in the photo, it's ambiguous and not pretty at all. It's definitely not red. It's not even a toned-down red. Maybe it's red + orange + a hint of pink? I was looking for a matte lipstick and found this on sale, so I tried it on and loved it. I thought it was a deep dried rose color, but that was just because of the strong store lighting. One swipe gives that impression, but after two or three applications, it looked more like a toned-down red on my lips. Basically, it's a brick color without any yellow undertones. I wasn't planning on it, but I ended up buying a lipstick like this by chance. It's matte with excellent color payoff and naturally accentuates lip lines. There's hardly any emphasis on dead skin cells. I've never had a lipstick look the same outside as it did in the store. This is my third disappointment. I wonder how other people manage to choose the right shade. It's like I blindly picked a lipstick from a jar - the color is completely different. Sigh. Update: It burns and I can't bear to apply it. The staining is so intense that it makes my lips look like they're burned. I used it once and now it's just sitting in my drawer... Oh no, my money! Previous review: As time passes, I feel a slight burning sensation. The lighter shade next to it is from Pia, which I consider the best in terms of color, but it contains the red 202 that's known to cause cheilitis. I was looking for a different lipstick because of that, and ended up buying this one, but it turns out this also contains that ingredient. No blemishes yet, but I'll have to keep an eye on it. Due to the nature of matte lipsticks, it's inevitable that they feel increasingly dry over time. Applying a bit of lip balm as a base might help, but it probably won't last all day in winter. I'm thinking of using a more everyday color in the morning, and then when I'm tired and my face looks drained in the evening, I could use this for a few hours to change up my look.
