It absorbs really well. I usually use shade 23, but the darker shade 23 works for me too. The coverage is a bit lacking. You'll need to supplement with concealer. - to*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 17, 2022
Texture: When pumped onto the back of your hand, it appears slightly runny but has a thick consistency. As it's a professional product, if you're applying it directly to your face, you'll need lightning-fast sponge or brush skills! (It sets faster than you can blend with your fingers, unfortunately.) I recommend dotting it on your face and blending immediately. If you leave it on your face for too long, the edges dry quickly, making it a bit challenging to blend. Since I have dry skin, I mixed this foundation with a more emollient one when using it. Coverage: As it's a matte formula, the coverage is excellent! You can either: 1. Apply it thickly in one go for full coverage 2. Build it up gradually with thin layers Both methods provide similar coverage. However, as time passes, you might feel a slight heaviness on your skin. When rushing through makeup in the morning, I sometimes use method 1, which gives great coverage but can emphasize areas like the nose and smile lines, occasionally leaving the skin feeling a bit suffocated. Longevity: For my dry skin, this Make Up For Ever foundation works well in summer when used alone. It doesn't feel particularly drying and blends nicely with the skin's natural oils, creating a subtle glow while lasting quite well. Scent: This foundation is nearly fragrance-free, making it suitable for those who dislike strong cosmetic scents. If you have dry skin like me, using this Make Up For Ever foundation alone might be too drying. I'd recommend mixing it with a more emollient foundation, cream, or serum. This is a great foundation for summer! It works well mixed with an oilier foundation or cushion. The coverage is so good that even a thin layer provides excellent coverage. - ca******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 12, 2021
I've been using this foundation for 8 years now. It's probably best suited for those with combination dehydrated skin who dislike heavy-feeling products on their face. While it may vary depending on skin condition, it generally provides a semi-matte finish. There's nothing particularly bad about it. I've tried foundations from other brands like Ar*ani, Bo*bi Brown, VDL, etc., but I always end up coming back to this one. Comparing it briefly with other foundations I've used (excluding cushion types): Ar*ani foundation was too oily and felt like it created a silicone film, making my skin feel suffocated. Bo*bi Brown's foundation had nice skin expression, color, and feel, but seemed better suited for those with dry skin. VDL felt too heavy on application and caused blemishes. Y245 matches my complexion, but if you're looking for a pink base, R260 works well. There are quite a few reviews for Y245, but not many for R260, so I thought I'd share. Applying with a brush and then lightly patting with a puff seems to best bring out the foundation's qualities. Using only a puff can make it apply somewhat matte and thickly. While it's in a higher price range, using Make Up For Ever base + UHD foundation + powder creates truly artistic skin expression. The Hwahae Testers would approve! - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2020
Mid-20s male with oily skin Long-lasting / Great coverage / Minimal caking or patchiness Feels more runny than firm. Easily wipes off with the slightest touch. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 10, 2020
When first applied, it enhances my skin's appearance as if it were my own natural complexion. It seems not to suit my skin type. The makeup breaks down very quickly and has poor staying power. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 21, 2019
After using Shu Uemura's white-capped foundation for years, I switched to this, and it matches my complexion so much better than other foundations like Innisfree! True to its HD name, it applies in a thin, natural-looking layer. I'm not sure about its coverage. If your skin is in good condition, you'll be 200% satisfied when you apply it. However, if your skin is even slightly dry or you have blemishes, it really highlights those imperfections. During testing, they used a brush and sponge, but in my experience, a brush absorbs too much product. I prefer applying it with a wedge puff. I'd recommend this to those who already have naturally good skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinJul 22, 2019
As someone with dry skin, I usually use Armani Designer Lift for its moisturizing properties. However, during the humid rainy season, it felt a bit too dewy, so I switched to Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. I love its semi-matte finish texture, which is perfect for dry skin types even in summer, especially during the rainy season. It seems to darken a bit when it breaks down... After a few hours, the combination of darkening and fading isn't particularly flattering. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedJul 10, 2019
The application is smooth and natural with a lovely color. It's the perfect texture - not too sticky or matte! The coverage isn't particularly outstanding, and while the staying power isn't bad, it's not exceptional either. It tends to transfer quite a bit, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 15, 2019
This is the only foundation I use. After trying a few other products that kept pilling, I've found this is the best for those with large pores. It doesn't float on the skin but adheres perfectly! I keep buying it and using it with great satisfaction. It flows a bit too freely, which is slightly disappointing. However, thanks to that, it absorbs exceptionally well! They recommend using a brush instead of your hands, but here's what I do: I apply a generous amount of moisturizer, let it dry, then pat the foundation on using the warmth of my hands. This makes it stick perfectly to the skin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 22, 2019
I usually apply it evenly on my face using my fingertips, then blend it with a sponge. The application is smooth and it spreads thinly, which is why I've been using it consistently for almost 7 years. I prefer a light application, and since I don't have any blemishes, I can't really comment on its coverage. Maybe it's because I have oily skin, but the staying power doesn't seem that great. I'm not sure if it's because I apply it thinly, but after about 4-5 hours, touch-ups are a must. Otherwise, it looks like I'm not wearing any base makeup at all. I have dark skin without redness, but occasionally get milia and acne. I use this product alone for my base makeup without any concealer!
