It finishes with a truly natural and velvety feel. It's not heavy at all. I already have good skin, so I was looking for a natural and moisturizing foundation regardless of coverage, and I'm testing this one. However, this is so natural that it looks like I'm not wearing anything at all. Some people mentioned it gives a natural glow, but that doesn't seem to apply to those with very dry skin. I was hoping for a natural glow and slight complexion correction, but it really looks like I'm not wearing anything. 1. The shade is darker than expected, so try testing a shade lighter and then test your usual shade. 2. The natural glow doesn't apply to those with combination to dry skin or drier. 3. Gently patting with fingers works best for application. Alternatively, use a short, firm brush with good bounce. It seems to have the worst compatibility with regular sponges. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinMar 22, 2018
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found this product to be nicely moisturizing with good absorption. I opted for the mini size since the full-size product was more than I needed, especially as I don't wear makeup often. The mini is perfect for me! The nude shade is a bit healthier-looking than my usual 21 shade. I like to apply it over the Hera Starter (mint), Shu Uemura primer, or Anna Sui gel primer. It gives a natural look that's great for quick trips out. For full makeup days, I sometimes add a tiny bit of cushion foundation on top for extra coverage. It works wonderfully! Just be sure to apply something underneath for that subtle Inner Glow. I've included comparison photos with the Laura Mercier alone and paired with Shu Uemura. The Hera primer is also recommended! The second photo makes Laura look a bit darker, so refer to the first one for a more accurate color representation. While there are many products with clean ingredients these days, Laura Mercier's formulations aren't the most 'clean'. It's a bit concerning, but I've used products with questionable ingredients before without knowing, so for now, it seems okay. Overall, it's just so-so in that aspect. I'm not sure I have any real tips to share... These days, everyone tailors their base makeup to their skin type, so it's hard to give a one-size-fits-all recommendation for application techniques.
