  Pros

  The V-essence comes with massage instructions, and when I follow them every evening, especially on days when I need extra care or when I'm puffy in the morning, it's amazing! First, the eye area looks incredibly refreshed. I'm not sure about its effect on pore elasticity, but it makes my skin feel firm like I've just done a mask. I've been using it for nearly 3 years. It has a delightfully bouncy texture.

  Cons

  The price. However, the reason I've been repurchasing it for 3 years is that makeup applies so beautifully over it.

  Tip

  Using it together with the Clarins V-Mask is incredible. The price is steep, but the results make you forget about the cost. The V-Mask feels like a clay mask - you apply it from chin to neck, leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse off. It instantly lifts the sagging cheeks around the mouth and reduces puffiness. When you follow up with the V-essence, you'll wonder why you ever used other masks (it's that effective). It feels like a week's worth of intensive care in one go.

  Pros

  This is my year-round skincare staple, always paired with an oil. While it's an essence that tackles pores, firmness, and hydration, I find its moisturizing effect to be the most impressive, followed by its firming properties. The texture sits between an emulsion and a cream - you can pat it in with your hands or follow the massage technique that comes with the purchase. Either way, your skin will truly transform. It's one of my top 5 holy grail skincare items!

  Cons

  Although it's marketed as a firming essence, it's quite hydrating and absorbs well, so it might work for oilier skin types too. Some people might find Clarins' signature scent a bit off-putting though.

  Tip

  Apply as directed, pressing gently from the forehead down. On days when your skin needs extra TLC, warm your face with a hot towel to soften it (this is key!) before applying the essence - your skin will feel even more supple. Finish by mixing it with an oil and cream for ultimate skin satisfaction.

  It absorbs well and seems to have a detoxifying effect. After applying, my skin feels clearer. I'm not too familiar with the ingredients, but it's gentle on the skin.

  Pros

  It's a gel-type essence with high hydration and absorbs well. I'm quite sensitive to fragrances, and if a scent bothers me, it can cause blemishes on my skin. However, this essence has a subtle, inoffensive fragrance. The ingredients are surprisingly good, especially for a department store brand. While I don't feel an immediate firming effect when using it, I definitely notice a difference when I don't use it. Since I started using this product, my face seems less puffy. I'll likely continue using it.

  The quantity seems a bit on the small side. Other than that, I have no complaints.

  I started using this because my face lacked firmness, and it really does have a lifting effect!

  Cons

  Since I have extremely sensitive skin, it feels quite hot and tingly when I apply it.

  Tip

  For best results, you need to pump it five times. Two or three pumps just aren't enough, unfortunately.

  It absorbs completely and removes impurities, which is why during the two years I used it, my nasolabial folds surprisingly improved a lot. My complexion also got better.

  Cons

  After long-term use, perhaps due to the ethanol content, my skin seemed to struggle. Also, the recommended amount is 5 pumps, but it's difficult to measure that accurately when using a sample.
