My T-zone tends to get excessively oily, so I absolutely despise rich textures. I usually finish my skincare routine with a light emulsion and never use creams. However, in recent years, perhaps due to aging, my cheeks have become extremely dry and sensitive. Despite this, I didn't want to add any oil, so I layered on tons of hydrating products. It seemed okay for a while, but it wasn't enough, and I ended up with blemishes all over my cheeks due to dryness. Scratching them unconsciously only made my skin worse. I was dead set against using anything oily, but realizing I had no choice, I searched for a good cream and bought this one. Since my T-zone is already oily enough, I only apply a pea-sized amount to my dry cheeks as the final step of my routine. Lately, I've simplified my routine to toner - aloe gel - moisturizer, as using too many products feels burdensome. It seems that adding one oil-based product to my dry cheeks works better than layering multiple water-based ones. The itchiness has almost disappeared, and the blemishes have reduced. I plan to use it consistently until I finish the whole jar.
This is my first moisturizer, so I'm not sure how typical moisturizers feel, but this one feels quite rich. The application reminds me of applying an ointment like Fucidin, which I'm not used to. After application, it leaves an oily film on my face with a sticky feeling. It might just be my imagination, but I feel like all sorts of impurities will stick to my face over time, which makes me quite uncomfortable. Moreover, it's summer now, so its characteristically heavy feeling is even more unpleasant. I think it would have been better suited for winter use. While the blemishes on my cheeks have definitely improved compared to before, I feel like I'm now getting small blemishes due to excess oil rather than dryness, so I need to pay more attention to balancing oil and moisture.
It's better to gently pat and press the product into your skin rather than rubbing it in.
