I've repurchased the iconic blue tin Nivea cream after such a long time! With winter here, I needed that extra hydration, and this cream often pops up in my childhood memories, so I like to use it again from time to time. I've frequently used it as a body and hand cream, but this time I tried it on my face after a while, and I love it. Due to its rich texture, it doesn't glide on effortlessly, so I wouldn't say it absorbs easily. However, that thickness makes me feel like I'm giving my skin extra care when I apply it slowly and mindfully. When I was younger, the rich consistency felt a bit heavy, but now in my mid-30s, it feels even better. The baby-powder scent is lovely, and I appreciate that it hasn't changed much over the years. After application, my face has a glow, and I feel like my skin is truly protected. There's often talk about it having similar effects to La Mer cream, but I can't compare as I haven't tried both. What I do know is that it's very affordable and especially great for winter. For body and hands, it's consistently good!
When you first apply it, there's a brief moment where the white cream is visible, which might surprise first-time users, but it quickly absorbs and becomes transparent.
I found that using a face scrub made of brown sugar and olive oil before applying the cream really helps it absorb into the skin. I've also heard it pairs well with jojoba oil!
