Being German-made, it's completely black and doesn't harden easily, allowing for smooth and effortless application. As someone with monolids, it smudges way too much! It's practically useless. It transfers all over my eyelids. The thick tip makes it difficult to draw precise lines. You'll need a pencil sharpener for this one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 18, 2016
It applies well and draws a precise line. That's about all it does well. It smudges too much. Honestly, just throwing it away is the best solution. I've used several Banila Co products, but... - ji********Combination SkinSensitive SkinJan 24, 2015
I'm posting this review for the Rich Khaki shade here since it's not listed separately. I hope you understand. It's a deep khaki with shimmer, but it looks almost black. Upon closer inspection, it resembles a seaweed color. The pencil glides on smoothly. This deep khaki shade has sparse micro-shimmer, but it looks nearly identical to black. Up close, it just looks like seaweed color, which is disappointing. It smudges easily. If you're prone to smudging, I'd recommend products from Bbia, Ardeco, or Mefactory instead. After wearing it for a while, it not only smudges but also starts to clump slightly. The formula is soft, but it's a sharpen-type pencil, which is a hassle. For products like eyeliners and eyeshadows, the quality is usually consistent across a brand's range. It's best to find a high-quality brand you like and stick with it. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend Banila Co for these types of products.
