ProsThis product can be either a dud or a star depending on how you use it and whether you have oily or dry skin. It's not suitable as a spot concealer though. And seriously, it's best for oily skin types only!
I have oily skin and not too many blemishes, so I'm quite satisfied with it. You know how makeup tends to fade and look dull on the T-zone and sides of the nose due to excess oil? Well, these are actually areas that should be the brightest, but you can't apply thick layers as it would be noticeable if the makeup cakes or clumps. This product solves that problem - a thin layer lasts all day, even in midsummer heat and sweat. Plus, it's a shade lighter than my complexion, so it doubles as a highlighter in these areas.
ConsIt's extremely drying, so I can only apply it to my T-zone and sides of the nose. Anywhere else is too dry, even for my super oily skin...
The NC15 shade is a beautiful, clean ivory, but personally, I prefer a slightly yellow base as the sides of my nose tend to get a bit red. I wish it had more of a lemon tint rather than this very beige tone. It doesn't really neutralize redness.
That's why I use it with shade 20, but there's a big difference in brightness between the two, as 20 is the next shade up. However, 20 is also too yellow... While it does a good job covering redness, there's quite a gap between it and shade 15...
TipYou know those vertical brushes? If you use one of those to apply this product while filling in your pores, it goes on super thin. You can almost use it like a foundation. I don't apply it all over, just to the center of my face around the nose. This way, your makeup doesn't get cakey, and I find a single tube lasts me about 2 years when used like this.
If you want to apply it all over your face, try mixing it with a pearly or hydrating base to reduce the coverage and make it more fluid. This should prevent it from looking too thick.
