They're not hard granules, but I can't really describe it in words. Anyway, there are some granules and it has a rich texture. It's affordable and an easy-to-find drugstore cleansing foam. Since it's called 'brightening', it seems to have a whitening effect too, but the effect wasn't noticeable after just one use... ㅠ There were no irritations or troubles when using it, so it seems gentler than I expected and I liked it!
