Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand and gently pat it all over your face with your fingertips. Unless you have very dry skin, apply the essence on top after the emulsion has absorbed slightly.

The only downside is the small amount. Since it's completely liquid, it's hard to control how much you use. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied.
