  Pros

  Yves Saint Laurent... they really nail their colors. I bought Rose Crazy and it's a shade that cool-toned girls will go crazy for. The color is quite intense and has good staining power, so you need to use something like a cotton swab for a clean finish when applying. It's like turning on a fluorescent light on your face! Though it's matte, it's not stiff at all and applies with a silky, velvety feel. The luxurious-looking case is also a plus.

  Cons

  While the initial application feels silky, it becomes extremely drying over time, so good lip care before application is crucial. For darker shades, there can be some bleeding, so it's best to start with a small amount from the inner lips and blend outwards with a cotton swab or finger for a natural color payoff.

  Tip

  I use it with a balm specifically made for matte lipsticks. Alternatively, I apply lip balm or Vaseline beforehand, wipe it off, and then apply the lipstick. It might reduce the longevity a bit, but honestly, there's not much difference between using it and not using it.

  This was my first time trying YSL lipstick, and I love how smoothly it applies and how velvety soft it feels!

  Cons

  It smudges more easily than I expected, and since using it, I've been biting my lips more often

  Pros

  The color payoff is amazing! It goes on super pigmented. The design is beautiful, especially the lovely cap.

  Cons

  It's quite drying, so I had to apply lip balm intermittently. The color was too intense, so I had to blot it off with a tissue or my fingers. After a while, I'd look in the mirror and see it had smudged around my lips like the Joker (due to the intense pigmentation). Matte formulas just don't seem to work well on dry lips.

  Make sure to apply plenty of lip balm before using this product.
