As someone with oily skin, I was on the hunt for a long-lasting foundation when I discovered Estée Lauder Double Wear. After hearing that Double Wear can be a bit heavy, I decided to try Double Wear Light, and I'm already on my third bottle! (I started with Intensity 2.0 but switched to 1.0 from the second bottle.) The application is excellent, and the staying power is truly impressive. However, since I have very oily skin, the area around my nose gets a bit shiny by evening. But a quick dab of Innisfree No Sebum Powder makes it look flawless again. I can't compare it to the original Double Wear, but I'm really satisfied with both the coverage and longevity of Double Wear Light! It's become my holy grail foundation.
The price is the main drawback. It's about $60 for 30ml. Fortunately, I get a discount at my local department store with their beauty membership, so I can buy it for around $57. Also, the SPF is only 10, so you need to apply a separate sunscreen in summer. While it's fine on most areas, it feels a bit dry when applying to the eye and mouth areas (makes me worry about wrinkles). Since using Double Wear Light, I've been paying more attention to my skincare routine. I'm currently using Intensity 1.0, which is supposed to be the lightest shade, but I wish they had an even brighter, more radiant option.
Make sure to choose a shade that matches your skin tone perfectly! It's best to visit a store and try it on in person. Before applying foundation, make sure to prep the eye and mouth areas with extra skincare. Double Wear Light has almost no oiliness, so you can layer skincare products in those areas without worrying about it being too much.
