This is a gentle and mild morning cleansing gel. It's less irritating than cleansing waters that require rubbing with cotton, and I prefer the refreshing feeling of finishing with water cleansing. I recommend this to those who don't wear much makeup and want a light cleansing routine. This is the unscented, low-irritation Basis Sensitive cleansing gel line, and Lavera has cleansing gels in other lines as well, but the Basis one is the best. The unscented formula doesn't get tiring, and the price is the most affordable. It's a non-foaming gel, so I scoop some out, apply it to my face, then rub it in with my wet hands before rinsing off with water. It's gentle and not irritating. The cleansing power is also good. The fragrance was classified as a harmful ingredient, but the product fragrance is not an artificial one, but rather made from natural ingredients, so it doesn't seem irritating to the skin. I occasionally use mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow, and even though I have a cleansing milk, I sometimes forget the cleansing step. However, this product removes everything thoroughly. I often reapply sunscreen, and I'm always worried that the invisible sunscreen ingredients will remain on my skin, but after cleansing, not even the faintest eyeshadow shimmer is left on the cotton pad. It was good for my mild and dry skin. I don't use foam cleansers, so I use this instead and I like it. When I only used sunscreen, I used this alone, and when I did makeup, I used it after the cleansing oil. Even after washing my face, it leaves a moisturized feeling. I'm not sure how many bottles I've gone through so far. (laughs)
Cons
It seems like the expiration date is quite short. I didn't notice it when I was using it daily, but when I used it together with other products, I was able to use it for longer than usual, and the scent changed. To be honest, I didn't even use it for that long. It's not a rancid smell, but a slightly different scent. I've noticed that with this brand's products, the hand cream does the same thing.
