The floral notes are very strong, but it's not a light floral fragrance - it's a truly deep~ floral scent. The nectarine and cedar notes are particularly intense, and there's a distinct rose aroma as well. While in high school and early college years, I preferred sweeter scents like Anna Sui Night of Fancy or Lancome La Vie Est Belle, now in my mid-twenties, I occasionally want to wear a more mature, womanly scent... like when going to a wine bar. True to its name 'In Love', it's an intensely feminine and alluring fragrance that evokes the feeling of being deeply in love. Rather than a cute girl experiencing her first love, it brings to mind a woman who has already experienced love to some degree. The scent is very powerful and deep, perfect for creating an air of sophisticated elegance. It's definitely not a common fragrance, featuring Lancome's signature deep blend of nectarine, cedar, and rose. The lingering scent is very similar to the initial one, but with the cedar notes becoming slightly stronger, which I actually preferred. The longevity is quite good.
ConsWhile it could be described positively as an intense and deep fragrance, it could also be called a 'harsh' scent in less flattering terms. Those sensitive to strong fragrances might experience headaches. On days when you're not feeling your best, continuously smelling it might even induce symptoms similar to motion sickness. Wearing this and getting on a bus would be unbearable. It can sometimes smell a bit like a car air freshener and really make your head hurt. That's why on days when I'm not feeling great, I opt for lighter fragrances and avoid this one. This is more suited for days when you're in the mood for a strong drink!
TipThis fragrance is more suited to mature women in their late twenties rather than cute young students. It's for women who've seen it all... those who have experienced deep love and evoke the image of sophisticated office attire. If you enjoy fragrances like Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Parfum (I'm using this as an example since it's well-known), you'll probably like this scent too. It's a truly intense fragrance!
