Originally, my skin didn't have acne, but if I neglected skincare, severe atopic dermatitis would flare up on my face, causing a month or two of suffering. Otherwise, I had unremarkable skin that didn't noticeably react to products others raved about. However, last year-end, possibly due to stress, I experienced my first acne breakout. Thinking it was because I enjoyed using face oils, I assumed I had oily skin and acne was related to oiliness. So, I only used alcohol-based or oil-free products for oily skin until it improved. But it didn't get better; it got worse. Then I realized it wasn't pustular acne, but rather dry, millet-like acne caused by lack of hydration (I wish I'd known sooner!). That's when I was recommended Nils Yard products. My skin's oil-water balance was off, and I was interested in gentle skincare due to acne-induced sensitivity. It seemed perfect, and it truly was amazing. After four months of use, all my millet-like acne disappeared, and emerging spots calmed down by morning after application. Plus, being an oil, it keeps my atopic dermatitis at bay. Personally, I adore the scent; it feels extra soothing. I find it too oily to use alone, so I either use it for cleansing (wiping it off) before my skincare routine or mix it with other products. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin types, but for someone like me trying to balance their disrupted oil-water levels, this product played a crucial role! While it may not be a dramatically transformative product, its gentleness makes it a staple I'll continue using without issues. I think I'm stuck in the Nils Yard swamp now. I'm going to buy more tomorrow as I've used it all up!
I'm not sure if my product was altered, but there were small, congealed particles in it. I'm not the type to bother with exchanges or refunds, so I just used it as is. It was a bit annoying to melt those particles sometimes... Like after an exhausting day, when I'd washed my face with cold water, my hands were too cool to melt the oil easily!
I use Nils Yard's rose line for my skincare routine, and I love mixing it with the moisture emulsion. It makes my skin more hydrated than most moisturizers out there!
