Many reviews say that this product causes flaking after use, and when I apply it, a thin, plastic-like layer does peel off as it dries and hardens. I suppose that's part of the healing process? I've found that if I apply it thinly, especially at night on just the problem spots, it dries quickly without any peeling issues, and I can apply makeup over it in the morning. The thick application seems to be what causes that flaking.
It's amazing for spot treatment, but don't use it around your eyes - it's way too irritating. I stopped using it for a while because the smell was so off-putting, but then my acne flared up again, so I started using it regularly. Even after a break, it still works really well for me.

The smell is somehow, I don't know, it's a strong and frightening ointment smell, like it's going to completely peel off my skin. When I apply it to my skin, it feels like it's burning and heating up. I'm scared, so I only apply a little bit at a time, but looking at the ingredients now, it's not as serious as I thought.

I've been using it for a long time. My skin is generally good, but around my period, I get one or two large, inflamed pimples. As I've gotten older, it takes about a month for them to subside, and I end up with some discoloration. 
When a pimple is about to surface, if I apply the product well, it comes up within two days and then goes away again. If I keep applying it for a day or two after that, my menstrual cycle clears up and the pimple disappears. The effects are immediate. It also seems to have a blemish-reducing effect on existing pimples, so I dab it on with a cotton swab.

The fragrance might be a bit strong, I suppose.
And it causes a bit of flakiness while the blemish subsides.

Just apply it lightly to the troubled area and it will quickly subside.

There are times when it stings quite a bit when applying it. The case also feels very easily damaged, like a hand cream case, so you have to be careful when twisting the cap or it can get damaged.
