It's well-known that tea tree cleansers are great for acne-prone skin. I discovered this product while searching for a proper tea tree cleanser, tired of domestic brands that use minimal amounts of tea tree (often diluted to an unknown degree) and market it as high-concentration. Tea tree's antibacterial properties make it appealing for those with blemishes. While using pure tea tree oil can cause irritation due to concentration issues, I believe it's safer to use products pre-formulated by cosmetic companies (assuming they contain sufficient tea tree). This cleanser fits the bill perfectly. As someone with oily, acne-prone skin, I alternate between this product for its antibacterial benefits and Paula's Choice Clear Cleanser for its BHA properties, depending on my skin's condition and other skincare products I'm using. For example, I'll use this tea tree cleanser on days when I plan to exfoliate with a BHA toner. Regarding the product experience, the scent is a bit off-putting. I usually enjoy tea tree's refreshing aroma, but this one has an unusual fishy note. It's my first time encountering this type of tea tree scent, but I assume it's more authentic and continue using it as it's not overly bothersome. As an overseas purchase, I was worried it might leave my skin feeling too squeaky clean. However, it has a surprisingly smooth and hydrating finish typical of low pH cleansers. It also cleanses effectively, removing light makeup easily. The lather is slippery like a low pH gel, but it still produces some foam for those who prefer it. Overall, the user experience is satisfactory. Even when used on irritated skin, it was surprisingly gentle. This product seems ideal for incorporating mild antibacterial properties into your daily cleansing routine. The packaging is a bit inconvenient. The 250ml size comes in a squat bottle that's neither a pump nor a tube, making it awkward to use. The purchasing process is complicated as it requires overseas shopping. The distinctive tea tree scent is somewhat fishy and lingers for a while even after rinsing. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 12, 2021
Leaves skin feeling soft after cleansing. Effective in calming acne (even small bumps). It's not just me saying this - others have noticed too, so I can't deny its effectiveness. Gives a refreshing sensation! Although the ingredients list shows many chemical components, it doesn't irritate my skin at all. It's a bit on the pricey side. The strong herbal scent might be overwhelming at first. While rinsing, you might feel a slippery texture, but there's no point in scrubbing too hard. After rinsing for a while, it's already clean - continuing to rinse may actually dry out your skin! Try the smaller size first, and if you like it, go for the larger one! - de*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 13, 2021
It's moisturizing enough for even dry skin to use comfortably. I've heard that the tea tree ingredient has antibacterial properties. It's not an extremely gentle product. Sometimes after cleansing, my face looks a bit red. - lo******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresApr 14, 2020
I can't speak to its effect on large blemishes, but it does calm down those small, pesky ones. They don't completely disappear, but they do settle down noticeably - I'd say they shrink by about half. It's like the bumpy, uneven texture becomes smoother. There's definitely a positive effect. After washing my face, my skin doesn't feel dry, and it performs just as well as any other gel cleanser. Nothing negative to report. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 9, 2020
Courtin is great... After cleansing, it definitely feels different from other cleansers. It's like a protective layer is being applied to your face. The scent is just okay, but that actually makes it feel more pure. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 6, 2020
While it doesn't create a dense lather, it foams up nicely. Thanks to the tea tree ingredient, it leaves a refreshing feeling after use. I haven't been using it for long, but I'm not sure if the tea tree doesn't agree with me or if it's just a coincidence with other external factors. It seems like blemishes have appeared all over my face, so I might need to pause using it for a while. Tea tree can be too strong for some skin types, so make sure to test it before buying such a large-sized product. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 21, 2019
I have blemish-prone oily skin. This product has significantly improved my blemishes and reduced redness, so I've been using it exclusively. My skin doesn't feel dry after cleansing, and it effectively removes light makeup. The scent is a bit... perhaps due to the natural tea tree oil, it has a medicinal herb-like smell. Once you get used to it, you can enjoy it with the mindset of taking beneficial but bitter herbal medicine. If you buy the large 500ml bottle, it comes with a pump, making it easy to control the amount you use. - ju**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedSep 14, 2019
It's more hydrating than I expected and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight. I thought it might be harsh, but it's actually quite gentle. The scent is a bit strong... I guess that's because there are no artificial fragrances. It's not a particularly pleasant smell. - pi******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 10, 2019
I absolutely love this product! I tend to get blemishes due to inflammation, and when sebum builds up on my face, it can also cause acne. Recently, with the changing seasons and fine dust, my skin has become really sensitive. Even minimal cleansing was painful for my skin. Since Winnie kept emphasizing the importance of an anti-inflammatory cleanser, I decided to buy this recommended product. First off, it cleanses better than I expected and removes makeup well. It gets rid of excess oil and dead skin cells without drying out my skin, leaving it smooth and soft. When I lather it up after washing my hands, it foams nicely (though it's not a super dense foam). I feel like my skin is less thin and fragile now, and my sebum production has decreased a bit. I plan to keep using this product. The packaging is not great. I'll have to transfer it to another container. It's difficult to control the amount that comes out because it doesn't squeeze easily. Make sure to check if tea tree ingredients work for you first. They work really well for me, and I've tried The Body Shop's tea tree products as well as many other tea tree cosmetics. If you're not good at controlling tea tree oil, use products that have it as an ingredient instead. I'm planning to buy and use the cream, emulsion, and other products from this line too! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 24, 2018
This cleanser contains a higher concentration of tea tree oil compared to typical tea tree washes on the market. It has excellent cleansing effectiveness, making it effective for makeup removal. The tea tree oil's antibacterial properties make it suitable for blemish-prone skin. The scent is herbal, but not in a fresh way. It has a sharp, pungent smell that takes time to get used to. Unfortunately, the lather isn't as rich and dense as I'd prefer. To create a richer and denser lather, make sure to thoroughly wash your hands before use.
