Before trying Estée Lauder, I used the Hanyul foundation in shade 21, often called the affordable Double Wear dupe. I was satisfied with Hanyul's coverage, lasting power, and color, using it for 3 bottles. But after my friend's enthusiastic recommendation, I switched to Double Wear in Cool Bone after finishing my Hanyul products. Even though I bought it in the dead of winter, I hardly felt any dryness, probably because I don't have dry skin! With a solid skincare base, it stayed on without drying out or breaking down for a long time! The best part was the incredible adherence and lasting power - while Hanyul was great too, Double Wear made me wonder why I hadn't tried it sooner. I usually touch up my makeup at least once, but with Double Wear, I rarely need to! Maybe just a little blotting after about 6 hours if there's some oil. I love that it doesn't transfer much even when my boyfriend pinches or touches my face. I adore Double Wear... The longest I've worn it without removing was 14 hours, and it held up perfectly. For reference, my skin type is between normal and oily!! I'll be using Double Wear for life!
In the dead of winter, when I didn't have a solid skincare base, I experienced some deep dryness a few times on very windy days. But with a good skincare routine, it's not an issue at all! Those with extremely dry skin might find it challenging though!
For skincare, I use Verite Bergamot Toner (any hydrating toner should work fine!), apply a thin layer of Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream, and then use Beyond Angel Aqua Moisture Primer, known as an affordable dupe for MAC Strobe Cream. This combination works wonders when applied before the foundation!
