I've heard a lot of good things about La Mer, and it's said to be really good for those with dry skin. While it didn't work for me, it's just an expensive product with a pretty packaging.

I tried this product by applying a little bit on top of the skin care I was already using one evening. Since I heard it was made for those with atopic skin and was very gentle, I thought I could use it without testing it first. But my whole face ended up completely irritated. The fragrance is so nice, and the moisturizing power is also outstanding. I used to think that if something is expensive, it must be good.

Since I have a dry skin type, the moisturizing power was too good, so I applied it generously and used it consistently for over a year. I also received regular skin care treatments, but gradually, allergies started to appear. I never imagined it could be because of the product. When I told the dermatologist that I was using La Mer, they said that a few other people had also come in with the same issue after using it... I couldn't believe it at first, but just in case, I started using only very mild products like Physiogel. After a year of using those, the allergies didn't come back. But I had stocked up on a lot of the products from the duty-free shop, so I gave them to my husband. However, he said the oil content was too high and it made his skin too greasy, so he couldn't use it. Anyway, it seems that expensive doesn't always mean good.

It's a bit heavy, but it absorbs well after application. The scent is also decent, but it may be too much for those with oily skin.
