I've been using this product for over two years now. As someone who typically applies foundation twice, I use this as my base. My routine involves applying a brightening moisturizer first, then this product, followed by blush and a second layer of foundation. It's great as a first layer, helping to even out my skin tone and providing decent coverage. I definitely recommend it! There's not much I dislike about it... The only thing I can think of is that if you don't have a solid skincare routine as a base, it might be prone to pilling. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 24, 2017
This product has become a must-have in my life. Even with a small amount, it covers blemishes (dark discoloration or redness after popping) and brightens my complexion. It also has good longevity. It held up well from 7 AM to 9 PM! It blends well (though the makeup layer becomes a bit thick) and when I use it as a primer and then apply powder with a brush, the makeup doesn't break down like when I use a setting spray. I've tried many cushion foundations, but I haven't found another product that satisfies me as much as this one in terms of longevity, pigmentation, and coverage. There was also no darkening (liquid foundations tend to darken more quickly). Since it's sufficiently matte, it would be great for oily skin types (using it with a sebum-controlling powder makes it easier to get through the summer). I have dry skin that gets oily and causes my makeup to break up and wear off, but this product has been relatively less problematic for me, which is why I'm still using it. A little goes a long way with this product, so it lasts a long time. It also creates a great base for eyeshadows and blush, making the application and payoff look better. The matte finish means the results can vary a lot depending on how well you apply the base and build up the layers. I wouldn't strongly recommend this to those with very dry skin. It's best to test it out first before purchasing. The coverage and longevity may be the reason, but I did find the product felt a bit suffocating on the skin after application. It couldn't perfectly cover some stubborn blemishes (like deeply pigmented acne scars or pitted marks - while it covers well, it can't provide flawless coverage compared to other cushions). Using a liquid concealer rather than a stick concealer helped make it feel less heavy. After using the cushion multiple times, I found it could make my complexion look too pale, and touch-ups became a bit tricky. ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ When I used the limited-edition summer product with the blue case and glitter, I suddenly developed terrible milia. The staff said it was just the case that was changed, but the formula was the same. However, that clearly wasn't the case - my skin reacted terribly, and I had to throw it out immediately. I even tried switching up my skincare, but the blue-cased version was the culprit. My sister with dry skin also broke out in milia after using it, and it happened within half a day. The plain black version is much better. I can use that one comfortably all year round. ----------- 2018.11.08 Cushion products need to be used up faster than liquid foundations. If you don't clean the cushion well or store it improperly, something undesirable can grow. Even if the product hasn't been reformulated and you're using the same skincare, if you suddenly start breaking out in milia or cystic acne, stop using the cushion and try the liquid version (your usual one) applied with a disposable sponge. If the breakouts don't recur, it's likely the cushion was contaminated. You may be prone to breakouts at certain times, even if you normally don't, due to a compromised skin barrier. But if your skin is reacting badly for no apparent reason, it's worth investigating the cushion as the potential issue. The product is quite matte, and it couldn't perfectly cover large pores. For those with oily skin, it's best to build a good base with skincare products before applying the cushion: (In the summer, it's good to create a hydrating base, and in the winter, adding a few drops of oil to the moisturizer helps prevent the skin from looking too dry and rough after using the cushion. If you don't build up the layers properly and apply it directly on bare skin, it can emphasize dryness and make pores look more prominent - which is heartbreaking.) - Toner >> Essence >> Ampoule >> Moisturizer + a small amount of oil For those without large pores, it's not as big of an issue, but applying a matte primer lightly can help cover the pores completely, giving a porcelain-like finish. Of course, you'll need to cleanse thoroughly afterwards to avoid skin issues. If you use a concealer, it's better to apply it after the primer and before the cushion. Putting it on top of the cushion can make it look obvious, and that area may lift during touch-ups. I found that applying the concealer on the primed skin, then lightly dabbing with a damp sponge to blend, made it look more seamless. Since the product itself is not very lightweight, you need to be careful with the amount and adjust it as you go to avoid it looking cakey. The "Skin Beige" shade is quite similar to an ivory tone. Those with lighter shades like Light Beige or Ice Ivory (13/21) can likely use the Skin Beige 2 shade. The oil that comes through can be managed by lightly sweeping on a colorless powder (I've been using a sebum-controlling powder) with a brush, without needing additional touch-ups. Applying too many layers of the cushion can make the skin feel more suffocated. It's best to clean the puff regularly or replace it with a new one to avoid skin issues. You can find small cushion/powder puff cleansers at Daiso for around $2.50. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 12, 2017
I purchased the refill along with the Tony Moly sale! - It helps to express the skin tone clearly. - It is moisturizing. I was generally quite disappointed ㅠㅠ The cushion cap was also too messy...and it felt a bit sticky! Even though I have oily skin, the skin expression didn't work well for me ㅠㅠ It's disappointing, but I'm still using it ㅠㅠ - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2017
The coverage is not bad and it doesn't look too different from my skin tone, so it gives a natural glow. Most importantly, the longevity is good. The downside is that the skin expression doesn't seem very even. I mainly use it when applying light makeup. Using it together with a primer will further enhance the longevity. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 3, 2017
The coverage is amazing, and the cost-effectiveness is excellent. The foundation also matched my skin tone really well. It looks so natural on my skin, and it doesn't get cakey even when it starts to wear off. It seems to be quite moisturizing, and I'm really satisfied with it! But like any other cosmetics, this one makes my bare face look even duller and I can't go out without makeup. It's addictive, to be honest. I'm not sure if it's just in my head or not. If I spray some mist on the puff and then apply it, it looks even more moisturized. I have a slightly yellowish, not completely fair skin tone, and the 23rd shade is perfect for me. It makes my skin look healthy and suits me well. It whitens just the right amount, and I'm very satisfied! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 4, 2017
The coverage is great. It can cover most pimples and blemishes. And even though I usually use shade 23, it applies naturally on my skin tone and provides good color correction. Even though I thoroughly did my base makeup, as soon as I applied it, the skin looked smooth, but as time passed, it became patchy and the flakiness was very severe. I had an appointment that day, so I did my base makeup thoroughly and went out, but when I got home and looked in the mirror, my makeup had completely fallen apart and wiped off, and the flakiness had come up. In terms of longevity, it's a 0. And the darkening is also extremely severe. And I heard the coverage was good, but the spots weren't perfectly covered, so I was disappointed. I have no intention of repurchasing, and I think this cushion is not suitable for use in the winter. I think it would be fine for those with dry skin to use. If you use it in the winter, make sure to have a solid base makeup routine. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 22, 2017
The coverage is incredibly good. My skin tone has become brighter and my makeup doesn't smear at all. When rubbed, it leaves marks right away. Even handprints remain. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 26, 2017
The coverage is excellent and the tone is bright. If you want a fluffy type, I recommend it! You may feel it's a bit dry. Not recommended for a dewy makeup look. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 19, 2016
Despite the moisturizing cushion, it has excellent coverage. It's also reasonably priced. My skin tone seems to be naturally brightened by one shade. As a low-cost product for combination skin, the U-zone was moderately moisturized and good, but the T-zone was quite oily... The darkening also seems to be quite severe. Those who dislike a moisturized feel may want to avoid this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 21, 2016
I've tried a lot of cover-up cushions from drugstore brands that claim to have good coverage, but this one is the best.♡ It covers blemishes and acne spots pretty well, and for those with nice skin, it gives a beautiful, glowing look when applied thinly. The lasting power is also decent - you can touch it up during lunch or dinner and it'll stay put. The tone is also pretty and brightens the complexion nicely.ㅎㅎ I have a fair complexion and use shade 17, but when I tried shade 21, it made my face look like it was floating. So I initially bought 21 but it was too pale, so now I'm using it as a highlighter on my T-zone. Over time, it also gets a bit drying, and if you apply it too thickly, it starts creasing after 4-5 hours.ㅠㅠ 1 For those who usually use around shade 13 in other products, try shade 21. For those in the 17-21 range, go for 22. For 22-23, use 23. If you have a darker complexion, it's better to use a different cushion that matches your skin tone better! 2 If you have problematic skin, first use a concealer to cover any trouble spots, then apply this cushion thinly - it won't look cakey or wear off quickly. 3 This cushion tends to transfer a bit when you press on it, so if you dust on some powder lightly after applying, it will increase the staying power and minimize transfer. 💛 Buy it when it's on sale - it's a steal!💛
