For acne spot treatments to be effective, it's best to apply them in a thick layer.

Similar to Pâte Grise, this product tends to sit on top of the skin rather than absorbing, so I could only use it at night when I was at home.

I used this product alongside the Pâte Grise from the same company. Unlike the thick Pâte Grise, this one feels softer and more hydrating. I applied it generously with a cotton swab on my blemishes. Probably due to the ethanol content, it evaporated quickly, leaving the applied area dry. It felt a bit like applying an antiseptic, which was great for calming redness. It was also easier to wash off compared to Pâte Grise when cleansing. However, I'm surprised to find out it's been discontinued... This is a belated review, but I'm taken aback!

The scent is a bit ambiguous. It's hard to say if I like it or dislike it...

When applied to small milia before bed, they vanish completely by morning!

For best results, apply Special 5 after cleansing and toning. This allows the spot treatment to penetrate deeply and work more effectively.

I was so impressed with Special 5 that I followed Payot's recommendation and purchased Pâte Grise as well. I tried layering Pâte Grise underneath Special 5, but either my skin is unusual or Pâte Grise just doesn't work for me... It had absolutely no effect. As a result, I exclusively use Special 5 for spot treatments now.

I used this product without checking the ingredients initially... I'm puzzled why they added colorants. The product is so effective on its own, it doesn't need unnecessary additives.

Before the recent revamp, the packaging was a pump bottle, which was incredibly frustrating when trying to get the last bits out. I had to disassemble the container just to use every drop. Thankfully, the new tube packaging is a massive improvement in terms of convenience!

The most disappointing aspect, however, is the pricing in Korea. The official importer, Cheongho Nice, is selling 15ml at an eye-watering price! While I still buy it because it works, for those of us with larger areas to treat, it would be nice if they at least increased the volume to 30ml for that price. This is my biggest gripe with an otherwise excellent product.

After 34 years of battling acne-prone skin, I've finally found the holy grail of spot treatments! Since discovering Special 5, I've confidently tossed out all other spot treatments.

As someone with oily, sensitive skin that's prone to blemishes at the slightest provocation - be it a wrong choice of emulsion or a bit of sweat - I was at my wit's end after countless dermatologist visits. Then, I stumbled upon a acne success story from someone who'd just returned from France, and that's how I discovered Payot's Special 5 spot treatment!

True to its reputation, it's an absolute knockout for inflammatory acne. Apply it to angry red pimples, whiteheads on the verge of erupting, or pesky blemishes, and you'll notice a significant calming effect by the next day. The powerful combination of sulfur and high-quality tea tree oil in its formula works wonders on inflamed skin.

Interestingly, after loving Special 5, I even tried importing a sulfur ointment from the US, thinking sulfur was my skin's new best friend. But the difference in effectiveness was night and day - Special 5 was far superior. Since then, I've stuck to Special 5 exclusively.

Once you try it, you simply can't go back to anything else. I've gone through 15 tubes so far, even resorting to ordering directly from France. It's a staple in my skincare routine, and I plan to keep using it. This is hands-down the best acne spot treatment that should never be discontinued!

The smell... It smells like creosote ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I don't want to breathe it in.

The effects don't show up right away, and you need to use it for about 2-3 days. ㅠ.ㅠ

The fact that the inflamed or internal acne seems to calm down is definitely a plus. After using it, the acne will gradually disappear.

If you apply it a little more broadly around the inflamed area after squeezing it out, the wound won't become too large and will subside quickly.

There were no major disappointments. The stinging and pain are unavoidable.

This product is applied with a feeling of disinfection after squeezing out inflamed acne. Since the inflammation that comes out can spread or splash to other areas, causing new trouble, this product plays a role in preventing that. It's not a product used directly on the blemish itself. After squeezing, it feels burning and stinging, but has a disinfecting sensation.

While the product showed rapid soothing effects in the initial stages of use, the dramatic results gradually diminished over time. (This does not mean the soothing effect disappeared, but the speed of the effect may have slowed down.)

While it may be difficult to fully assess the effectiveness when used with Patte Grease, the product proved effective in soothing inflamed and irritated acne. Unlike Patte Grease, it dries quickly after application, avoiding any mess on clothes or bedding. It can also be easily washed off with just water.
The 15ml product size lasts a long time, as it is a spot treatment product.

The amount is not too much, but it feels a bit sticky and doesn't apply smoothly.

Although I haven't used it for a long time, there were no irritations when I applied it. If I apply it more consistently, it may be effective...
