I was skeptical when I bought it due to my severe acne scars, but after using it for about a week, I could feel my skin regenerating as dead skin cells started to come off.
ConsIt produces a lot of dead skin cells. You'll need to exfoliate frequently.

You might feel a slight tingling sensation at first, but it quickly subsides. Initially, I thought it might be too harsh, but a friend who used it said it worked wonders on acne scars. Her skin truly improved after using this cream. Interestingly, in Australia, this product is marketed towards women in their 40s and 50s. Knowing that it's effective for that age group of Caucasian women gives you a better idea of what kind of product it is.
ConsDue to concerns about the ingredients, I actually emailed the company in English and received a response. (A friend recommended it when I was living in Australia, but after coming home and checking the ingredient list - I wasn't using the Hwahae app then - even to my untrained eye, I noticed several ingredients that seemed problematic.) I wrote, 'Frankly, there are too many unnecessary or potentially harmful ingredients. Are you aware that the skincare community advises against using certain ingredients in sunscreens and other products?' The company replied that it's more important to know the concentration of an ingredient rather than just its presence. They explained that while Australian law requires them to list all ingredients, the actual amount absorbed by the skin is minimal. Their own tests showed that the trace amounts of these ingredients are unlikely to cause allergic reactions or harm to the skin. While Korean consumers are very ingredient-conscious and tend to avoid potentially harmful substances, this product has passed Australia's notoriously strict pharmaceutical and cosmetic regulations. It's also used without issues on sensitive and thin Caucasian skin. If you're hesitant about purchasing, it might be worth considering these points.
TipPersonally, I have thick, resilient skin without blemishes. Although it was highly recommended, I didn't see as much improvement as my friend did. However, as I have oily skin, when I apply this before bed, I wake up feeling like my dead skin cells have been completely removed. After washing my face, my skin feels as soft as if I've had a bath. Be warned though - this product stings if it gets in your eyes. The ingredient list includes components that can cause eye irritation. Plus, it's quite rich, so if you apply it around your eyes, you'll likely need to rush to wash your face first thing in the morning. Keep that in mind. Also, the amount you apply is crucial. Don't slather it on like you would a hydrating or nourishing cream - it will pill. I recommend only using it at night. In terms of price, it's on the higher end for products sold in Australian drugstores. However, you can often find it at nearly half price during sales. Don't pay full price - wait for a sale or ask friends in Australia to buy it for you for a more reasonable cost.

There's a slight tingling sensation when first applied, but it quickly subsides.
ConsThe ingredients aren't particularly gentle, so it might be a bit much for long-term use...

The stubborn acne scars that kept reappearing for years have now almost faded away. Everyone's been shocked by the transformation! I've tried expensive dermatological treatments costing hundreds of dollars, but they only provided temporary relief before the issues came back. I'm so relieved that my persistent blemishes are finally gone!
ConsIf you have super sensitive skin, you might feel a slight tingling sensation when first applying it. Also, even though I have oily skin, it left me feeling a bit dry, so I'd recommend using it in combination with a hydrating moisturizer.

After being hugely disappointed with Avène Cicalfate cream before, I had given up hope, but this cream is absolutely effective for my skin! I think it's great for combination skin with blemishes, really helps with skin regeneration. While it's hard to see quick results for blemish scars or maintaining complexion, it's exciting to see my skin improving much more than expected.
ConsFeels a bit rich? As much as it's hydrating, it also feels quite oily. If you have active blemishes rather than scars, I'd recommend using a lighter cream specifically for troubled skin. While it doesn't cause breakouts, the feeling of oil sitting on top of irritated skin isn't great.
TipIf you have active blemishes, I recommend using a lighter cream designed for troubled skin. Or just use this one in the evening. If you're really stressed about your scars, definitely give this a try.
