Extremely gentle and non-irritating! Suitable for sensitive/hypersensitive skin Excellent hydrophilic properties The texture is delightfully rich and creamy Cleansing effectiveness is really poor... Even without reapplying mineral sunscreen, it doesn't remove it completely... It may prevent blackheads but doesn't remove existing ones Uncertain if it's residue or moisturizing effect, but it feels uncomfortable without follow-up foam cleansing Likely ineffective for combination dehydrated or oily skin types <- Even for normal skin, it's insufficient and often feels like the oil and moisture balance is off Recommended for normal to very dry, sensitive skin types who wear very light makeup, want to prevent blackheads, and are committed to daily oil cleansing - cl********Combination SkinAcne SkinFeb 21, 2024
Performs the role of a cleansing oil. Can remove all makeup in one go. - The texture feels heavy when applied and has a clay-like or earthy scent. It's not an unpleasant fragrance though. - The oil doesn't seem to rinse off completely with water. With continued use, it causes a lot of small blemishes to appear. Other cleansing oils were fine, but this one specifically causes issues. - After rinsing, it doesn't leave the skin feeling fresh. - co********Dry SkinSensitive SkinJan 25, 2024
It has a very high-density oil feel, yet it's surprisingly refreshing. It's thin and light, but the particles themselves are fine and feel really concentrated. Does it emulsify well? Hmm, not as well as other Korean cleansing oils, but it still emulsifies without any issues. It finishes with a fresh, clean feeling, but since it's an oil, I follow up with a gentle low pH foam cleanser for double cleansing. I didn't experience any blemishes, burning sensation, tingling, or itching. It didn't cause any redness either, and I had no irritation at all, which I really liked. You see, I have super sensitive skin that reacts to everything, so I've been searching high and low for something suitable. Most Korean cleansing oils contain ingredients like solvents, silicones, fragrances, and aromatic oils like lavender, plus ethylhexyl-something - all of which cause stinging, burning, redness, and make my skin even more sensitive. That's why I switched to cleansing milks, tried 5 popular ones, but none worked and my skin had the worst reactions ever. Then I heard cleansing waters were good, so I tried Bioderma and 5 other famous ones, but they didn't suit me either. I also tried about 5 cleansing gels, including dermatological products, but no luck. Cleansing balms were the worst. As someone with extremely reactive skin, I can confidently say this product is truly gentle. It's great... just please don't discontinue it... The price... 75ml for 1.5 (based on the lowest price).... It's too expensive.... I was shocked when I saw how tiny it was in person. Why is it so adorably small... - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 14, 2023
As someone living abroad, I find this to be an unbeatable alternative to Korean-style cleansing oils. There's a similar product from Yves Rocher with chamomile oil, but Caudalie is just a bit pricier. It absorbs well and feels smooth on the skin. I didn't experience any issues while cleansing. The distinctive scent of this line is a total turn-off! It has a lingering odor that's less intense than the toner, but still uncomfortable for sensitive noses. Strongly discourage it for those who are bothered by scents. Even the hand cream has a similar strange smell. - je******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityJan 8, 2021
Light texture, lightweight feel, and airy finish Gentle cleansing power... It feels similar to Barbie Soothing Cleansing Oil. I know it's good, but I'm not reaching for it... - sk****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedDec 10, 2020
This is a gentle makeup cleansing oil that's low on irritation. Despite being an oil, it's not heavy, so it might suit those who prefer lighter textures. It effectively removes most color cosmetics. The signature Caudalie scent might be polarizing. Personally, I found this level of natural fragrance acceptable. For combination dehydrated skin, this cleansing oil works hard to maintain the oil and moisture balance without clogging pores. - yo*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinOct 14, 2020
The Caudalie cleansing oil feels gentle and seems to cause minimal irritation The scent was a bit off-putting, and it doesn't seem very effective at removing blackheads - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinOct 4, 2020
- It's quite different from typical cleansing oils. - It has a weightier feel, and unlike regular cleansing oils that are light and water-like, this one is similar to an emulsion type, but without being heavy. - When removing makeup, it's gentle and non-irritating when used on the cheeks. - The price point is the first drawback. It's a bit steep to use as a regular cleansing oil. - Secondly, while people often use cleansing oils for blackheads and sebum control, this one isn't really suitable for that purpose. - hh***Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 18, 2019
The texture is lovely. It feels like a dry oil! I love how it leaves my skin feeling slightly powdery yet moisturized after cleansing, perfect for a bare-faced look. While it's not priced like our typical jumbo-sized cleansing oils, which is a bit disappointing, I'm still satisfied with its elegant feel on the skin. Since it has a dry oil texture, you'll need to use a bit more product to cleanse thoroughly. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 8, 2019
First off, it's incredibly hydrating! The texture is rich, so when you emulsify it with water, it's gentle on the skin and rinses off beautifully. The fragrance isn't artificial at all - it has a natural, cosmetic-like scent with subtle grape notes. The scent might be perceived differently by individuals. Some may find it artificial (that's how I felt, while my sister thought it was natural). The texture is on the heavier side, which might feel a bit heavy on the skin. (It does feel weighty during oil massage, but once water touches it, it's fine quickly.) The main drawback is probably the price, unfortunately. As someone with sensitive, very dry skin, I recommend this as a hydrating cleansing oil that doesn't cause irritation! While I find it suitable even for summer use, for skin types other than very dry, it might feel more refreshing when used from autumn through spring.
