I bought this for my psoriasis. It seems to have a calming effect. They also include a sheet mask as a free gift. The scent is quite strong, so you might want to consider that before purchasing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJul 20, 2022
It's moisturizing and I've been applying it to areas where I've recently developed eczema. It seems to be soothing and effective. Avoid using it around the eyes as it can cause a strong tingling sensation. Also, the herbal scent might be hit or miss for some people, though I personally don't mind it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 28, 2022
It gives a sense of skin regeneration and soothing. It also seems to even out blotchy skin tone, creating a more uniform complexion. The scent... well, it's quite natural, perhaps too natural... So I'm only applying it at night... Try applying one drop during the toner step, two drops for essence, and three drops for cream. The next day, you'll notice clearer and more supple skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 3, 2022
The soothing effect seems incredibly effective. When applied to areas with blemishes, they calm down within a few days! There's nothing to complain about, so I'm at a loss for words to write here! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinAug 26, 2021
The oil definitely seems to have great moisturizing power - it's so hydrating! Especially when applied with cream, it feels like it creates a strong protective layer on the skin. (However, I wouldn't recommend it to those who dislike heavy textures.) After some time, it really absorbs completely into the skin! I also liked that it didn't cause any tingling when applied. My skin was quite red and swollen after popping a pimple, but after applying this, I could visibly see a calming effect. The next morning, I noticed the redness had significantly reduced, and the areas affected by blemishes had settled down. If you're looking for hydration, this is a great product for seasonal changes or winter use! However, it might be a bit heavy for summer use. + Additional note: It seems to work well on scars! They noticeably faded in a short time. Wow, the scent... I've never encountered anything like this in all my years of using cosmetics. I saw a lot of comments about the fragrance in the reviews, but I thought it was just strong. After using it myself, I totally get it now. It was shocking and terrifying... After applying it, I was genuinely confused. I wondered if I'd be able to use it again tomorrow. What on earth is this smell? Then it hit me - it's cilantro! I can't believe three drops could be so potent. After applying it, I just... well, let's not go there. As strong as the scent is, it also lasts a long time. It's funny, but not really... The fact that my face smells like cilantro... Even now, three hours after application as I'm writing this review, there's still a subtle scent. I feel like I've turned into a human cilantro plant. I don't even like cilantro. There's no love-hate relationship here, just hate... It's going to take some time to get used to this. Do NOT use more than two drops under any circumstances! Why? Because the scent is incredibly strong and long-lasting, which can be quite distressing. Creating your own oil mist is a good idea too! Try mixing a few drops with a toner that works well for you and apply it that way. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 28, 2021
I bought this because it's supposed to be good for acne, and it does seem to have a bit of a calming effect. If you have super sensitive skin, it's probably best to avoid this. My sister used it and had an allergic reaction that completely upset her skin, forcing her to visit a dermatologist. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 27, 2021
Known as the 'flight attendant oil', I can't live without it in any season due to my extremely dry skin. Despite having an oil allergy, I cautiously tried this one and found it agreeable. I'm now on my fifth bottle! Mixing a couple of drops with an emulsion or cream keeps my skin comfortable for half a day. What's more, it has excellent soothing properties. A quick rub on itchy spots or insect bites brings rapid relief. When I apply it to my teenage son's forehead where acne is emerging, it significantly reduces by the next day. I'm truly satisfied with this product. I used to buy it elsewhere, but this time I got it at a great price during the Hwahae sale. The only downside is the scent. It has a slightly unpleasant herbal smell. However, I've grown accustomed to it, so it doesn't bother me anymore. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 19, 2020
I really liked that this oil isn't heavy on the skin. It seems to have calmed my inflammatory blemishes. I think it's also effective in evening out my complexion. Tamanu oil has a strong, distinctive scent and tends to leave a residue on the skin. For inflammatory blemishes, I apply it with a cotton swab. For regular use, I spread it on my palms and then press it gently into my skin. Sometimes I mix it with aloe gel or cream before applying. I mainly use it before bed and place a towel on my pillow to protect it from any residue. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJul 26, 2020
Purchased for skin soothing purposes. First off, the ingredients are great and gentle, causing no irritation even on sensitive, blemish-prone skin! The oil and moisture balance is incredible - perfect for those with extremely dry skin. While it's not a miracle worker for skin soothing, it definitely shows noticeable effects. Applying it before bed on particularly dry areas prone to dead skin cells leaves your skin amazingly hydrated the next day! It has a distinct scent that might be hit or miss. The fragrance isn't necessarily unpleasant, but it's quite strong. Even with a small amount applied, the smell lingers all day, which can be bothersome. It's a green oil that doesn't fully absorb, leaving residue on the skin that can transfer to white clothes or bedding. You'll find yourself being extra careful all night after application. It's a very concentrated, heavy oil formula! Absolutely not recommended for oily skin types before morning makeup application! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 18, 2020
Based on my experience, I always thought oils didn't suit my skin type and often caused blemishes. However, Tamanu oil has actually calmed my skin issues, and I think I'm seeing improvements in pigmentation. My dark spots have lightened. I love how my skin feels coated when I apply it at night and wash my face in the morning, suggesting it's effective for hydration too. This is definitely a product I plan to use consistently in the future. The oil really stings if it gets into your eyes. It's important to control the amount you use and avoid applying it around the eye area. This way, even if you accidentally rub your eyes, the oil won't get in.
