Its successor, #19 Vegas Coral, is famous as a MAC dupe and was even featured on Get It Beauty. After swatching, I realized this shade suited me better. The color is delicate, with a sheer payoff that works great as a lip base. It's also perfect for just lining the edges or wearing alone for a healthy-looking complexion. While the photo doesn't capture it perfectly, it's a muted coral with no orange tones - think 0.02% brown and mostly pink: a peachy coral? Love the sleek black and silver design, though there's a bit of shimmer in the black. Looks classy! No irritation, tingling, or allergic reactions. Update 11/25: Applied over lip balm in the morning. Despite only having chocolate milk all day, it faded evenly, leaving a natural-looking tint. Great adherence or maybe just impressive staying power? Update 5/5/2017: Felt like embracing spring with some coral. The color seems to build up nicely with each application.
ConsThere's some powder fallout... unavoidable with lipsticks. Best to swatch it once before use. Doesn't adhere to lips very well. Needs at least two layers for full coverage as it's a bit sheer. While not overpowering, the high saturation makes it appear slightly fluorescent on the lips. Finding a truly muted coral seems challenging. No long-lasting stain. In most cases, color disappears after 2-3 hours, leaving you looking washed out. Product tends to smear around the opening. Better to apply with a brush or fingers. Quantity seems a bit low for the price, though lipsticks are generally pricier than tints. The retractable mechanism stopped working after initial use. Be careful to only twist up what you need. Unsure if this is a defective case or a design flaw. As it's not a matte formula, it tends to smudge easily. The cap opens randomly, creating chaos in my makeup bag.
TipThe bottom and right swatches show The Face Shop's Retro Coral. This shade is a bit more pink-toned and muted. Capturing accurate colors on a phone camera is truly a skill for the experts!
