The color is absolutely stunning. It's not your run-of-the-mill shade. It truly embodies the essence of the jungle. Compared to MAC's bullet lipsticks, it's more hydrating. The application is smooth, and the color payoff is vibrant. While I didn't notice any particular drawbacks, I find that using matte lipsticks in winter tends to exacerbate dead skin cells on my lips. As a result, I'm less inclined to reach for it during the colder months. - gm*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 29, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous!! I have a complexion that uses shade 21, and I'm a warm tone that doesn't suit orange hues. This shade lights up my face like a fluorescent bulb! It's perfect as an accent color. The downside is that it doesn't last as long as a tint... Well, it's a lipstick after all, so I guess I can't expect too much in that department. - ha*********Combination SkinRecommendedMar 13, 2019
This seems like a great introduction to red lipstick. While it looks like a straightforward red at first glance, it actually makes your complexion appear brighter. Many people say they use it as a bold accent color, but I apply it lightly over lip balm and find it works well for everyday wear. It's semi-matte, so when applied over lip balm, it has just the right amount of moisture. The price is a bit steep... Given the cost, I strongly recommend trying a tester before making a purchase. - wl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2019
I was looking for an honest red shade since I'm not a fan of orange-reds, and that's how I ended up buying this. It's a slightly darker shade than a clear red, and it's beautiful! If you're searching for a true red, I'd definitely recommend this. The formula is semi-matte, which might slightly emphasize dead skin cells. Unlike the Audacious line, it doesn't have a magnetic cap and is a bit smaller in size. I actually prefer the smaller size as it fits well in my makeup pouch. Well... honest reds are quite common and can be found in many drugstore brands too. The color is gorgeous, but it's something you could easily find elsewhere. If you're set on getting a true red from NARS, this product is the most suitable. However, if brand isn't a priority for you, there's no pressing need to buy this specific one. Apart from this point, everything else about it was great! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 11, 2019
This is truly a holy grail product. While many people consider MAC's Ruby Woo their holy grail, it wasn't for me. However, this one is absolutely perfect and smells wonderful too. It feels great every time I apply it. It looks red at first glance, but upon closer inspection or when applied to the lips, it's a red with orange undertones. Advantages: - Doesn't accentuate dead skin cells - Brightens the face - Keeps lips hydrated For reference: I'm not sure of my exact skin tone, but I think I'm warm-toned and have a lot of autumn-colored clothes. Pinkish-red lipsticks with a hint of purple suit me well. There are no drawbacks. I can confidently say it's absolutely top-notch. - km*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 7, 2018
I'm writing a review with a heavy heart after losing the Jungle Red I've been using so far... Ah, it was a good lipstick. Before meeting Jungle Red, I had always thought that red, whether warm or cool, didn't suit me, so I only wore burgundy. When I first applied Jungle Red, I thought 'Oh no, it's too bright red' and just left it in my makeup drawer, but one day I wore it bare-faced and it turned out to look much better than I expected, so I started wearing it casually on a daily basis. (And then I lost it) Jungle Red is not a cool-toned red at all, but a warm-toned red (bright red) that can be worn by cool-toned people without any issues. I'm really surprised that this lipstick suits me so well, as warm-toned lipsticks usually don't look good on me. It was too drying, so I had to apply lip balm and then put it on top. I usually love matte lipsticks, but this one has an especially crayon-like application, so if you apply it directly to the lips, the blending is really, really bad. Apply lip balm and then put it on top. (+ The photo is of the mini size of Jungle Red) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedSep 4, 2018
The color payoff is amazing!! The longevity is also super great, so if you apply it in the morning and afternoon, it stays on. But.. be careful with your teeth. You might suddenly find yourself turning into Dracula.... - so******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 15, 2018
The signature red tone of Nas. The color is clear and pretty. Some people call it an orange-red, but I'd say it's more of a bright crimson? A clear, bright crimson hue. The application is not great, and the biggest disappointment was the pigmentation. After using MAC Bullet, it's hard to adjust to this one...It's not an issue with the color, but it just doesn't seem to apply well! It might be good for those who like to apply lightly. But for regular red lipstick wearers, this is really neither here nor there. The price is not great for the small amount of product. I only used it because I didn't want it to go to waste. Applying a bit of lip balm before using it can help with the pigmentation. - hw*****Dry SkinRecommendedMay 7, 2018
This is a product I purchased after searching for a suitable red shade. While overseas websites describe it as a product for yellow undertones, opinions on Korean websites are divided, and some bloggers have even labeled it as a cool-toned shade. It's a red with a slight pink undertone, but I would say it's a beautiful color that doesn't discriminate against tones. Even though I'm a warm-toned person, I don't feel like it clashes with my skin at all and I use it frequently, especially because the vibrant red is so lively. When layered, it pairs well with orange, dried rose, and pink tones - it's a truly gorgeous color. The formula is not as creamy as a matte lipstick, but it applies cleanly without clumping. It also works well on dry lips. The size is a bit small, and the case can get easily soiled. That's about the only downside. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 23, 2018
The Nars Manhunt is my holy grail product, and I've been using it daily. However, it wipes off too easily and the lasting power is not great, so I quickly grabbed a similar-looking one from the store. As expected, it's quite similar - it has a matte finish like Manhunt, and the color is similar to Mac Ruby Woo, a bluish-toned red. If you apply it lightly, it becomes a pink-red. *Oh, and as a side note, I wish I could write a review, but there aren't any available, so I couldn't. Niagaras and Manhunt are both really pretty. Niagara is a cool-toned MLBB pink, so if you're a cool-toned person, you can use it as a base and apply a red lipstick on the inner part - it looks amazing. Manhunt is quite well-known, often described as a 'water-logged pink-red' or 'watermelon' color, and that's completely accurate - it's the best. I'm a cool-toned shade 13, and this is my second Manhunt. The scent? It's a bit too raw-like, but still better than having fragrance added.
