It applies lightly. Especially when using the built-in kabuki brush for the final touch, it doesn't look cakey or apply too thick, but leaves a soft, matte finish. I have dry skin, and usually when I use powder, it sucks all the moisture out and makes my skin feel super tight. But applying it with the brush has this unexpected benefit! I used to use Snow White powder, but this one doesn't have the same whitening effect or touch-up capabilities. And the fingerprints... it's like a mirror finish. The velvet case is a nightmare. Sometimes I want to use a puff, but there's no built-in puff, so you have to carry one separately. The brush is also inconvenient to carry around. I'm still using the plastic packaging it came in to store it. I use a cushion for touch-ups (because I have dry skin) and then lightly dust with the brush to prevent my hair from sticking to my face! I received this as a gift, and wow, it's quite pricey! The case exudes luxury and feels a bit weighty due to its metal construction. There's a built-in brush, but it's not great. I'd recommend using a puff or purchasing a separate brush. Despite that, the powder itself is actually quite nice. The strange velvet cover on the packaging sheds like crazy - it's a mess! I wonder if the designer even thought this through. Given its extremely high price point, I doubt I'd ever buy this for myself.
