ConsHowever, the strong alcohol scent is a downside, and when I apply it, I experience a persistent tingling sensation and redness, which is unfortunate

For less irritation and better absorption, try patting it in gently instead of rubbing.
ConsIt can sting a bit when applied to very dry skin. While the sensation passes quickly, I'm concerned it might be causing extra irritation.
TipI've found that not completely drying my face after cleansing and applying this along with toner helps my makeup go on even better.

The application is smooth and it definitely provides hydration. It maintains well, feels lightweight and moisturizing without causing any blemishes. I have super sensitive skin that easily reacts, and out of countless skincare products I've used, those that didn't cause issues can be counted on one hand. This was the first basic skincare product I found that didn't trigger any blemishes. During less dry seasons, from spring to summer (I even used it into early fall), this product alone was enough to provide decent hydration. Of course, using just this one product didn't completely eliminate dryness, but for a single product, the moisturizing effect lasted quite long. Importantly, at the time I was using this, trying anything else would cause blemishes, so I couldn't use anything but this. The scent is nice too, and it absorbs well! My complexion also became clearer.
ConsWhen my skin was particularly sensitive, it sometimes felt tingling, possibly due to the ethanol content. The signature Chanel fragrance feels nice when applying, but knowing that fragrances aren't good for the body ultimately made me constantly worried. There are too many ingredients that aren't great, but after trying various natural cosmetic brands, experiencing oil-free products, and realizing that just because ingredients are good doesn't necessarily mean they're good for my skin, I've learned to pass on that. It's expensive, and since I'm not one to use products sparingly, I go through it quickly. The texture also tends to make me use it more generously. I'm actively looking for alternatives due to the price, but I'll probably end up repurchasing it...
TipIt's best not to be too stingy or too generous with application. Using just the right amount seems to be the most effective approach.

It's named as an emulsion, which makes sense given its texture. I love that it's hydrating without being oily. The scent is pleasant too. Rather than using a cotton pad, I find it's better to apply directly with your hands!
ConsWhen my skin was feeling sensitive, it stung a bit. I couldn't use it when I had an atopic flare-up. Otherwise, it was fine. The only drawback is that it's quite pricey for a toner....
TipThe price tag is eye-watering, so for my evening skincare routine, I use it as a boosting essence. I pump once into my hands and apply it first, followed by essence and moisturizer. For daytime, I use a more affordable, watery toner with a cotton pad to cleanse, then use this Chanel toner as a hydrating essence. It works great this way!
