The consistency is somewhere between a plant-based oil cleanser and a lightweight commercial oil cleanser. For the first time, I felt like it washed off completely with just water. As I have super sensitive skin, I finished with a cleansing bar. I praise both the ingredients and the user experience. Having gone through various DIY and prototype cleansing oils, I strongly recommend this one. It's especially great for those with dry skin! It's disappointing that the small size means it runs out quickly. The high price point is also a drawback.
