The content has an apricot hue, but when applied to the lips, the color payoff is delightfully unpredictable! If you apply a small amount and rub it in several times, it develops into a soft pink shade. However, if you take your time and apply it generously to both upper and lower lips, it transforms into a gorgeous grapefruit color as shown in the photo. I'm thrilled with both color variations and have been using it without any complaints. The staining effect varies depending on how much you apply, but given its light shade, it doesn't leave an intense stain.
