  The texture feels slightly oily, but once applied, it finishes without any stickiness, leaving a fresh feel. I've been using this product for a long time, especially around my mouth and eyes where dead skin cells tend to be noticeable before makeup. It keeps my skin hydrated for hours, preventing my makeup from looking patchy. Since it doesn't cause pilling even when foundation is applied over it and adheres well to the skin, I use this MAC Prep+Prime Oil Stick specifically for pre-makeup skincare, while I use other oil sticks for general skincare. I highly recommend this for those whose skin tends to look dry or whose makeup easily becomes patchy. It's also an essential product for those who prefer a foundation-free look and only use brightening moisturizer.

  Pros

  This is an absolute holy grail for my dry skin! When I use it as the very first step in my makeup routine, without anything else underneath, it gives me such a beautiful glow. If you really work it into your skin, you'll get this incredible radiance that doesn't cause your makeup to pill later.

  Cons

  The only downside is the amount you get. I tend to use quite a bit, so it runs out in about a month, or two months max if I'm stretching it.

  Tip

  Make sure to compare prices as they can vary significantly for this product. For those with dry skin, layering too many products can actually cause makeup to pill and look patchy. With this, you just need to apply it alone, followed by a primer or emulsion, and you're good to go. It's also great for touch-ups - just gently pat it on where needed!

  Pros

  It applies smoothly to the face and the method itself is simple, making it convenient. After makeup, my skin usually gets dry and the makeup looks patchy, but after applying this, the makeup definitely sits better. When touching up, if I apply this first, the touch-up goes on smoothly without pilling. I'm very satisfied with how it creates a glowing skin look. I'm particularly pleased that when I apply an extra layer on dry areas prone to wrinkles, like around the eyes, the makeup doesn't separate and adheres perfectly.

  Cons

  The sticky finish seems unavoidable. If you have bangs, absolutely do not apply this to your forehead!

  Pros

  Perfect for winter when you feel dry!!! I love a glowy, dewy look on my face, and this not only gives a beautiful glow but also fades gracefully. Plus, it's great for touch-ups with no pilling or sliding at all~!!

  Cons

  It might pill or slide if applied after makeup! That's why I prefer to use it before compact powder or foundation

  This product was absolutely fantastic for my extremely dry skin. I primarily used it as part of my skincare routine, but it's so versatile that I could even apply it over makeup without any pilling. During summer, it felt a bit rich, so I focused on applying it around my eyes and mouth, and mixed it with my moisturizer. In winter, I slathered it all over my face. And the size? It's an absolute beast of a jar!

  Cons

  I was initially pleased that it was marketed as fragrance-free, but as I used it... well, it's hard to pinpoint exactly, but it definitely wasn't completely unscented.

  Tip

  When applying makeup, dabbing a bit around the eyes eliminates any dryness, leaving the area plump and hydrated. It also works wonders as part of your nighttime skincare routine.
