I'm on my third tube of this, specifically because it doesn't contain petroleum jelly... I think I'll just switch back to a lip balm with petroleum jelly. No matter how much I apply this one, my lips still crack... sigh. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 4, 2020
I stumbled upon a YouTube video by a practicing doctor and was intrigued by two of the lip balms they recommended. One was from Manuka RX, and the other was the Erbario Toscano Olive Complex Protective Lip Balm. This brand with its long-winded name piqued my interest. Upon researching, I discovered it's an Italian product with little recognition in our country. After some digging, I found their website, only to learn it was sold out! I waited patiently until it was finally restocked. Not even the daunting COVID-19 situation could dampen my determination to purchase it. I bought it on February 25th and have been using it for 8 days. Here are my thoughts: Design: It comes in a tube, with different colors for each scent. Mine is olive-infused, so it's green. It looks sophisticated, not tacky at all. You'll feel stylish pulling this out in public. The tube format makes it easy to apply and more hygienic than pot-style balms like Bobbi Brown's. Application: When I first opened it and applied a tiny amount to my clean lips after washing, the rich texture melted smoothly with the warmth of my skin. It's virtually unscented - even the most sensitive noses might only detect a faint rubber scent. If fragrance is important to you, I'd recommend a different product. This one is more viscous than Kiehl's lip balm, but very soft. It didn't immediately soothe my severe chapping, but rather highlighted it. The effects last about an hour, and when it dries, my lips felt even drier. After 8 days of consistent use, applying it after my morning cleanse and essence routine, my chapped lips have improved significantly. It's smooth now, and I'm thrilled! Using this as a base before lipstick results in vibrant color and smooth-looking lips, even without thorough exfoliation. Highly recommended for women! Overall: While it doesn't address deep dryness immediately, consistent application for over a week will help tame flakiness. Apply with clean fingers and wash your hands after. Use it as a primer before lipstick for enhanced color payoff. I'm planning to try it under my Fresh lip tint next. Fellow beauty junkies, welcome aboard! I've tried everything from high-end to budget-friendly lip balms for 20 years, well into my late 30s - Bobbi Brown, Uriage, Kiehl's, Rosebud Salve, you name it. This one is the least effective at combating deep dryness. Perhaps it's because it doesn't contain petrolatum or mineral oil. It's silicone-free, paraben-free, and even undergoes nickel testing - completely natural! But for severe lip dryness, it's not the answer. You'll need to keep applying until your flaky skin calms down. After morning cleansing and applying essence, put on some aloe vera. Then, with clean hands, squeeze a tiny amount onto your index finger and gently pat it onto your lips. Don't rub or purse your lips - just let it be. Once it's somewhat absorbed, you can apply lipstick. Even if you have some flakiness, it won't be very noticeable - only you will know! With consistent application for a week, your lips will stabilize and the flakiness will subside. Being all-natural, it takes longer to see results compared to artificial chemical-laden products. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 5, 2017
I love that the scent isn't overpowering, it's not sticky, and it absorbs really quickly. When applied before lip tint, it makes my lips feel plump and hydrated. The only disappointing thing was that I bought it for 19,000 won before the discount, but then they lowered the price to 16,000 won, which was a bit frustrating. The sales associate suggested shaking it before use for better results, so that's how I've been using it.
