The Innisfree Superfood Fig Brightening Sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen that's highly rated by experts for its excellent ingredients. Application: Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it applies smoothly and feels moisturizing. It's slightly oily but dries to a matte finish. In winter, make sure to apply a good base skincare routine first. (Mineral sunscreens are typically dry and can be hard to remove, but are generally gentle.) White cast: It has a slight pink tint for brightening, but it's not overpowering. Those with skin tones lighter than #23 might find it doesn't match well. Apply in small amounts to avoid a noticeable difference between face and neck. Reapply every 3-4 hours for tone correction as it can fade. Coverage: While it's odd to expect coverage from a sunscreen, it doesn't provide any. I use concealer separately on days when my dark circles are prominent. Ingredients: Check out Director Pi on YouTube for a detailed explanation. She's a cosmetics expert who highly recommends this sunscreen for its great ingredients. Value: At 9,000 won, it's affordable even for students. Innisfree often has sales and accepts loyalty points, making it even more budget-friendly. You can sometimes find 1+1 deals on Naver Shopping.
ConsIt's hard to remove even with a good foam cleanser, so double cleansing is a must. I use an oil cleanser (medium-high cleansing power) followed by a gentle foam cleanser (low cleansing power). If you apply foundation over this sunscreen, it can cause deep dryness and skin cracking (apparently this happens to oily skin types too).
TipIt works well as a foundation replacement with just a touch of concealer. It doesn't get oily throughout the day, but we'll have to see how it performs in summer. If you nap, you might wake up a bit greasy!

The scent was also pleasant and not overpowering.
ConsWhile it might vary from person to person, at first it felt moisturizing, but as time went on, I experienced a sense of deep dryness..?

My friend gifted me this, so I gave it a try. While my T-zone and cheeks tend to get quite oily, this felt more matte, if that makes sense? I appreciated the lack of stickiness. Though not quite as light as an emulsion, it absorbs well, and I loved how naturally it brightened my complexion.
ConsI have super sensitive skin and usually avoid most drugstore products, but I tried this since it was a gift from a friend. At first, I thought it was great, but after about a month, my skin suddenly became red and irritated at night, and so dry it was painful. It was manageable until October, but when November hit and the weather turned cold, it was far too drying to use even over an emulsion. I had to layer it over moisturizer day and night. While it absorbs well, it tends to pill when applied with fingers. I wouldn't recommend this for those with dry or sensitive skin. It's probably best to avoid it altogether. Once I stopped using it, my blemishes cleared up completely.
TipIf you really, really want to use this, try applying it with a damp beauty sponge or gourd-shaped puff from Daiso, spreading it out well. And if you're using this sunscreen in winter, make sure to apply lots of moisturizer day and night before this. Otherwise, you'll end up with flaky dead skin cells everywhere.

I really love it. It brightens your skin when applied, but in a natural way that evens out your complexion. I don't even need to use cushion foundation or BB cream with this. It's seriously amazing, I can't express how much I love it!
Cons1. Deep dryness? My nose area got dry and developed dead skin cells. Applying a rich emulsion followed by this sunscreen helps soothe it a bit, but seeing the flaky skin afterwards made me dislike using it. Still, it was okay after thorough exfoliation and a solid skincare routine. 2. It's hard to cleanse off... I usually remove it with cleansing oil or water, then wash with a natural soap. But even after that, I could still see white residue in my pores, especially around my nose. I had to wash repeatedly, and even bought a blueberry cleanser, but still felt like there was some left. How do others manage to cleanse it off completely? 3. The amount seems small for the price. It's a line that doesn't go on sale, which is disappointing. +8/23 update: Since it's a purely physical sunscreen, I found it really difficult to remove. I spent a lot of time cleansing, washing over and over, even using a pore brush when it wouldn't come off. This made my skin very sensitive and it completely broke out. I've stopped using it and switched to a different sunscreen. For purely physical sunscreens, I've heard cleansing oils work well for removal, so keep that in mind.
TipApplying oat emulsion before the sunscreen helps prevent dryness.

The absorbs well too. It's truly a sunscreen I want to keep using...
ConsAlthough I have skin that tends to be dry, this was my first experience with deep dryness. It feels fine when applying, but after a short while, I felt tightness here and there. I realized, 'Ah, so this is what deep dryness feels like...' If it weren't for this issue, it would be absolutely perfect. Even after removing my makeup at night and applying my skincare, my skin still feels dry and tight. This must be because of this sunscreen, right?

The texture is smooth and applies nicely. I bought it because it's a mineral sunscreen with brightening effects! I also knew the superfood line was supposed to be quite healthy.
ConsI bought it right away because it's a mineral sunscreen with superfoods, and only read the reviews after. Oh, the deep dryness... It seemed fine when I first applied it, and I thought it was okay. But wow... after 3 hours, my skin feels so tight! This must be what deep dryness feels like. I'm wearing a sheet mask now, hoping my breath will help the product stay on my skin surface at least!

I've been using it for about two days now. It has a brightening effect, so after applying your skincare routine and this sunscreen, you'll notice a slight correction in your skin tone, making it appear fairer. It's not the typical white cast you often see, but rather it looks like your complexion has been evened out. My husband, who has acne-prone and oily skin, says the sunscreen suits him well without making his face greasy. Even when he applies it, you can see a noticeable improvement in his skin tone.
ConsFirst, my skin type is dry with a lack of oil. So it's extremely dehydrated. Even though I applied a moisturizer with a few drops of oil as part of my skincare routine before the sunscreen, the hydration seemed to disappear... After applying the sunscreen and using a winter cushion foundation, my skin still looked dry. On the second day of use, I went for a facial treatment, and the aesthetician immediately asked why my skin had become so dry. The deep dryness was so severe that I had to stop using it, and I immediately discontinued use when I noticed my skin becoming irritated and developing blemishes. Today, I just used Bobbi Brown's Moisturizing Balm as a sunscreen substitute, and the deep dryness is gone. I wanted to buy a sunscreen without harmful ingredients, but now I'm afraid to try other 'clean' sunscreens in case they have the same effect... I plan to try using it again after my skin has calmed down. I really want to reduce my body burden!! I'll update my review later~
TipIt's truly a very drying sunscreen, so you need to apply a super hydrating skincare routine before using it. When I mixed a drop of oil into the sunscreen before applying, the dryness disappeared immediately. I highly recommend mixing in a drop of oil!
