After getting a haircut and shampoo at the salon, I was blown away! It was a whole new world. Of course, the treatment and hair mask at the end contributed to the silky-smooth finish, but I was intrigued by the shampoo itself. So when I went back for a straightening treatment, I picked up Davines' NOUNOU shampoo. The original price was around $37, but I got it for $30 at the salon. It felt like a worthy splurge after a long time. I'm not sure if the bottle is recyclable, but I love that you can see the product inside, making it easy to track usage. While it's not a pump bottle, the consistency isn't too runny, so controlling the amount is simple. The ingredients seem gentle, giving me a sense of treating my hair healthily. With my oily, fine, and lifeless hair, I'm always careful about choosing shampoos. Davines is great because they have a wide range of options for different hair types. NOUNOU is perfect for extremely damaged hair, and their cute product names like VOLU, MINU, MELU, DEDE, and MOMO make me want to try them all depending on my styling needs and hair condition. They describe the scent as citrus spicy, which I found to be a subtle, natural fragrance - neither overpowering nor off-putting. It lathers well too. For hair damaged by perms, dyes, and heat styling, it seems to replenish moisture and nourishment, restoring elasticity from within. Davines, an Italian brand, uses local produce grown in good soil and clean air. I find it fascinating and trustworthy that they not only list the key ingredients and benefits on the label but also include the name of the region, farm, and even the farmer who grew the ingredients (NOUNOU uses Piaceto tomatoes). As an imported product, it's inevitably pricier. But having it in your bathroom feels like a bit of a flex, which adds to the satisfaction. The post-use contentment is significant too. It's not unreasonably expensive, but rather a product that justifies its price tag with quality. There are many excellent Korean products too, and the K-beauty market has grown into a massive whirlpool, expanding its consumer base beyond domestic use to become multinational. Even in Jeju where I live, just stepping into an Olive Young store, you can see how many foreigners are there. While good products do establish themselves, with the flood of so many brands, it's important for beauty enthusiasts to try various products, compare them, and find what suits them best and satisfies their needs and curiosity. - fl***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 9, 2024
The shampoo lathered well and felt gentle. It paired nicely with the treatment, leaving my hair silky smooth. While my hair is fine and prone to tangling, after rinsing, it didn't quite give me that '100% damaged hair repair' feeling I was hoping for. - ha********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 10, 2023
The cleansing effectiveness was decent, and I liked how it lathered well. After shampooing, my hair felt soft like I'd used a treatment, without that squeaky-clean feeling. The scent is subtle, somewhat like cucumber, but it's an unusual fragrance that's neither here nor there. The cleansing power isn't particularly strong, so I wouldn't recommend it for oily scalps. - ow*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 16, 2022
When choosing a shampoo, my top priority is finding one with excellent cleansing effectiveness that doesn't leave my hair feeling dry. This product definitely hit the mark in that aspect, and I was extremely satisfied. Despite the pleasant user experience, I didn't repurchase due to the high price point and underwhelming ingredients. It's a shame, as I did enjoy using it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 2, 2022
The fragrance is lovely, and it lathers up beautifully. I really appreciated that my hair didn't feel stiff after washing. There weren't many downsides, but if I had to pick one, it might be that it's a bit on the pricey side. - ec***Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 13, 2021
- The fragrance is lovely! It's like a floral scent, but not your typical shampoo smell, which I really appreciate. - It lathers well and leaves my hair feeling soft. - It's not particularly suitable for seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp. - The price is high and the quantity is small. - All small versions of Davines shampoos come in containers that aren't pump bottles, but rather have a flip-top lid on one side, which isn't ideal. Mixing this shampoo 1:1 with the Purifying shampoo from the same brand works wonders! It lathers well, prevents scalp blemishes, and is absolutely fantastic! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2019
As someone in their late 40s with curly hair that's been through many straightening treatments, my hair was dry and almost completely devoid of moisture. Add to that regular coloring, and even with high-end shampoos, my hair always felt dry and stiff after washing. However, after using the Nunu shampoo, I can feel my hair becoming incredibly soft, and the fragrance is lovely too. Even after blow-drying, my hair feels like it's filled with hydration, which I really appreciate. I've tried various types of Davines shampoos, but this product suits me best. Make sure to use the hair mask along with it - it helps tame my frizzy hair, which is so satisfying. The scent also has a healthy quality to it. The downside is the high price point. The 250ml bottle is small, so you have to turn it upside down and squeeze. The 1-liter version has a pump, which is convenient, but it's quite expensive - that's the only drawback. When my hair feels particularly dry, I apply the Nunu mask or another conditioner to the ends of my hair before starting with the Nunu shampoo. This makes washing much gentler and leaves my hair feeling softer. It's a pro tip I learned at the salon! - qk******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSep 23, 2017
My hair was really damaged, so I bought this at the salon and have been using it. After cleansing my scalp, I use NuNu shampoo for a second wash, and it makes my hair feel stronger. You can see the improvement in hair texture after about two months of use! The downside is that it's a bit on the pricey side. Other than that, I have no complaints. After using NuNu shampoo, follow up with the NuNu mask for soft hair that's not greasy! It adds shine to dry, brittle hair. I highly recommend using the NuNu shampoo and mask together!
