At first, I was drawn in by the cute packaging, but I ended up being more satisfied than I expected. I have combination skin that's a bit sensitive, so I can't use clay masks often, but this one caused almost no irritation and left my skin feeling not tight at all after use, which I really loved. The texture is a smooth cream type, making it easy to apply. After washing it off, I felt like my sebum and dead skin cells were cleared away, leaving my skin smooth and hydrated. I was especially concerned about excess oil on my nose and chin, but using this once or twice a week has noticeably reduced it! The scent is subtle and natural, not artificial, which is nice. For a mask pack, it's relatively easy to rinse off, so I find myself reaching for it often. Even with my sensitive skin, it suits me well without causing any blemishes, so I'm considering repurchasing when I run out. While it feels smooth when applying, once it dries, my face feels a bit tight, making it uncomfortable to leave on for too long. Also, probably due to the clay ingredients, it takes quite a while to rinse off, and I felt residue lingering, requiring multiple washes to feel completely clean. Since I have sensitive skin, I experienced some small bumps on my chin during the first couple of uses. They did calm down with continued use, but I'd strongly recommend doing a patch test first if you have sensitive skin. Overall, while it was effective for managing sebum and dead skin cells, I wish the feel on the skin was a bit more refreshing, and if it had caused less of an initial reaction, I might have used it more frequently. It seems like caution is needed for those with sensitive or unpredictable skin conditions. Apply thinly! If you apply it too thick, it takes forever to rinse off and leaves residue on the skin. A thin layer dries less and is much easier to wash off. Especially around the U-zone, either avoid it or apply very thinly to reduce the chance of blemishes. After use, immediately follow up with a soothing hydrating mask or moisturizer to keep your skin comfortable without any tightness. I'm currently using this as part of my weekly skin reset routine, combining it with an eggplant mask followed by a hydrating mask! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 4, 2025
I have combination dehydrated skin that changes with the seasons. This product is a gentle, moisturizing mud mask with fine particles that allows for mild exfoliation of dead skin cells without irritation. Unlike drying masks, it maintains hydration, leaving my skin smooth and my complexion brighter after rinsing. There are two colorants, including ultramarine, listed high up in the ingredients. I wonder if these are really necessary in a skincare product. Using this mask after opening your pores with a warm towel seems to help remove impurities, making your face look even more radiant. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 7, 2025
At first, I wasn't sure if it was because of this pack, but my complexion seemed more even? It not only cleared up things like sebum and improved skin texture, but I was also satisfied because it seemed to have a brightening effect on my skin tone - though that might just be my imagination! It didn't dry out my skin or make it feel tight, and had a nice thick, mud-like consistency. The downside is that the purple color is a bit unusual... and when you apply it, you look really, really unattractive. So I couldn't use it when friends were over. It's a mask I can only use when I'm alone. Pro tip: Using a wash-off pack with a cleansing headband is a game-changer! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 26, 2025
Even sensitive skin can use this without irritation! The texture is rich with small particles that seem to provide great dead skin cell removal. The mask doesn't harden too much, so it's less irritating when you wash it off. After use, you can definitely feel the exfoliation - your skin texture improves and feels super smooth. It's great that there's no deep dryness afterwards. Highly recommended for dry and super sensitive skin! Because it's more hydrating, the exfoliation is milder compared to other masks. The blackhead removal isn't particularly dramatic. After more use, I'd caution those with sensitive skin not to leave it on for more than 10 minutes. Recently, my skin was flawless, but after using the mask for 15 minutes, my skin became itchy and flushed terribly. I suffered for days, so those with sensitive skin, please be careful! The purple color of the mask might surprise your family members! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 21, 2025
The creamy texture makes it easy to apply. It feels moisturizing with a slightly rich consistency, but it provides excellent hydration. I'm not sure if it's effective for removing dead skin cells. Some might find it a bit too rich for their liking. 1. After showering, gently pat your skin dry with a towel, leaving it slightly damp, then apply the mask. 2. Post-shower, apply your favorite serum, then use the mask and rinse off with water only. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 17, 2025
Compared to Innisfree's Volcanic Pore Mask, this one feels more hydrating and less tight when it dries. However, it contains scrub particles, so there might be a slight irritation when washing off. Still, I highly recommend it because it's super effective on blackheads! The scrub particles can be irritating when washing off, so those with sensitive skin might not be able to use it. It's probably not suitable for dry skin types either. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinDec 22, 2024
Decent hydration. Effective at removing dead skin cells. Absorbs well. The granules are slightly stimulating. Haven't noticed any significant effects yet. I'll need to use it for a bit longer. When wiping, the purple color splatters everywhere. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 12, 2024
After use, my skin feels incredibly smooth and the texture is noticeably refined! The mask doesn't dry out completely, so it doesn't leave my skin feeling parched. The purple mask doesn't rinse off as easily with water as I expected, so you need to be thorough when cleansing it away. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinNov 24, 2024
Skin Condition: My skin tends to be dry, sometimes feels congested, and can look dull at times. I focus on managing dead skin cells and taking care of my pores. Texture and Feel: The Papa Recipe Eggplant Clearing Mud Cream Mask has a creamy mud texture that applies smoothly and adheres well to the skin without irritation. Unlike typical mud masks, it doesn't harden, which is its biggest advantage - it leaves your skin feeling moisturized without any tightness after use. The subtle natural scent, possibly from the eggplant extract, creates a calming atmosphere. Effectiveness: After use, I immediately noticed my skin looked clearer and felt softer. It gave a clean feeling as if the impurities in my pores had been cleared out, and my overall complexion appeared brighter. With consistent use, I believe it would definitely show results in pore care and managing dead skin cells. Room for Improvement: Like other mud masks, it takes a bit of time to rinse off completely, requiring multiple rinses with water. However, considering how gentle and non-irritating this mask is, this minor inconvenience is acceptable. I shower at night, and if I use this mask after showering, it can stick to my damp hair. So, I use a plastic sheet mask cover over the mud mask and dry my hair while the mask is on. Recommended for: Those looking for pore care and dead skin cell management, but have dry skin and need a non-irritating product. How to use: Apply evenly to the face after cleansing. This mask is really great to use when your skin feels congested or looks dull. It finishes with a moisturized feel without the typical tightness of mud masks, making it satisfying even for my dry skin! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 18, 2024
Highly recommended for acne-prone skin and exfoliating dead skin cells. After cleansing, it leaves your skin moisturized without any dryness, making it feel incredibly soft. I love that the scent isn't overpowering - there's just a subtle, pleasant grain fragrance. While I didn't experience any blemishes, I found that even after rinsing with lukewarm water, I needed to follow up with a foam cleanser for a thorough cleanse.
