When I was younger, I used to wear smokey eyes a lot, so I often wore nude lips on their own. These days, I mainly use this as a base lip color. MAC's nude lipsticks apply so smoothly that they really shine as true nude shades. I have naturally dark lips with a slightly muted rosy-pink tone, and only MAC can effectively neutralize my lip color for a true nude look. It applies well even though it's matte. While it's not as matte as Retro Matte, it's still quite matte. I recommend applying lip balm before your makeup routine and then putting this on as a final step. Personally, I use this a lot for muted winter deep shades. I often layer it with D for Danger for a great look. - dd******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 30, 2023
The muted coral-pink shade is perfect for light to muted skin tones. As someone who doesn't suit glossy finishes, I really appreciated the matte formula. I used to love this shade 7-8 years ago, but it seems they've added a subtle orange undertone now. I preferred the previous pale pink-beige tone. It's a bit disappointing. - os******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 8, 2023
I've never finished a lip product before, but after receiving this as a gift, I've bought two more! I thought I'd only use it as a base due to its light color, but even when used alone, it's a beautiful pink-coral that doesn't look floaty like a tint. It's a bit disappointing that it accentuates dead skin cells in the middle of winter. When that happens, using it with a lip gloss helps smooth out the flakiness. If you apply a generous amount of lip balm before using Runway Hit, it tones down the color. - sk*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedMar 9, 2023
This product is absolutely fantastic as a base layer for your lips! Its pros and cons are pretty much on par with other MAC lipsticks. However, if you wear it on its own, you might end up looking like that famous character from the comic... you know, the one with the exaggerated lips. - ba******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 16, 2023
Despite being a matte lipstick, it absorbs beautifully. The color payoff is excellent, and it doesn't accentuate dead skin cells. As with most matte lipsticks, it can become slightly dry after some time. When that happens, I simply apply a touch of lip balm. - jj*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 28, 2023
I've lost count of how many times I've used this! If you're looking for a lipstick with a subtle white undertone, I highly recommend it. As expected with lipsticks, it does wear off easily. But the color is quite unique! - hn*******Dry SkinDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 26, 2023
Beautiful color: When I took Runway Hit to get my personal color analysis, they said it's a deep undertone ~ warm autumn shade. It's visibly warm, so it'll look natural and pretty on those with matching skin tones. Base: Perfect as a base color. Since it's not too bold, I recommend it for daily use to those who want something versatile. Staying power: Compared to my previous base product, the staying power was quite good. My old one would disappear just from eating, but Runway Hit stayed on well even after meals. Emphasizes dead skin cells: It's very, very matte. Even after exfoliating, it manages to highlight even the tiniest bits of dead skin... I wouldn't recommend this to those like me with chapped, dry lips and noticeable dead skin cells. In the third photo, Runway Hit is on the right, and Rom&nd's Pink Sand, a representative cool tone, is on the left. I took this picture to show you how warm the color is. - je*************Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJan 24, 2023
The color is intriguingly beautiful. It seems perfect for those with muted skin tones. Due to its matte formula, it feels a bit stiff. There's a slight emphasis on dead skin cells. - gi*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedDec 14, 2022
For a MAC lipstick, it has a natural and versatile color. It's absolutely gorgeous whether used as a base or main lip color. It's quite stiff, so you need to dab it on or apply very gently. Otherwise, it feels like it might break. - 20*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedJul 16, 2022
1. Color While it's a classic nude lip, it has more vibrancy than expected, making it beautiful even on its own. The shade is between a soft pink and a light salmon (pale orange). 2. Pigmentation I have naturally dark lips, but when I apply foundation to neutralize my lip color and then use this lipstick, even the light shade shows up well, which I love. 3. Longevity It's great that the color stays on my lips even after drinking water, eating, and gently blotting with a tissue. 4. Versatility It's a convenient size to carry anywhere, and the black packaging doesn't show dirt. It's versatile as you can use it as a blush and eyeshadow too. 5. Texture Although it's a matte lipstick, it's not dry at all. It applies smoothly with a soft, powdery finish that looks natural. There's nothing I dislike about it. The price is relatively reasonable compared to other department store brand lipsticks. It's convenient that you can do an all-in-one makeup for lips, cheeks, and eyes with just this one lipstick.
