Recently, when I went to Lala Bla, I found that my sunscreen was running low, so I decided to check out the sunscreen section and picked up an Avène sunscreen that I've always been curious about. As I'm a big fan of Avène's basic skincare products, including their mist, I had high expectations and tried it out. When it comes to sunscreen, the SPF and long-lasting protection are very important factors. Avène sunscreen is said to have excellent photostability, so even when you're engaged in outdoor activities, the protective effects remain similar to when you first applied it, shielding your skin from UV rays for a long time. Instead of regular water, Avène sunscreen contains the brand's signature thermal spring water, which helps quickly soothe and calm the skin that has become sensitive due to sun exposure. It's also formulated without octocrylene, parabens, and silicones, and uses only 4 filters, reducing the burden on the skin. It provides long-lasting protection against both UVA and UVB rays. The formula feels a bit heavier compared to an airy, seamless texture like air-fit sunscreens. While it's not completely matte, it's not overly dewy either, providing a smooth, velvety finish that adheres well to the skin. It doesn't leave a greasy or sticky feeling, so it's suitable for use throughout the seasons.
ConsThe texture looks a bit watery, but it doesn't apply as smoothly and softly as a milky lotion. It's slightly thick, so if you don't spread it quickly, it can leave visible streaks. You need to apply it in thin, multiple layers to avoid pilling or a white cast.

As long as you don't apply too much, it provides a suitable toning effect.
ConsAt first, it feels a bit thick, I guess you could say. It doesn't spread on easily, and after applying it, my chin area felt very irritated and hot, so I had to use a fan for about 10 minutes.
TipI have no intention of repurchasing.

The ingredients are gentle and did not cause any breakouts. It is also rare to find one without acne-causing ingredients. The pump dispenser makes it easy to apply.
ConsTrue to its high SPF, it has a significant white cast. It leaves a very pale, ashy look... And despite being a lotion, the application is not smooth. Trying to spread it out on problem areas can be painful. The irritation is especially severe around the eyes and lips. I couldn't even apply it to my lips... The biggest issue is that it doesn't work well with makeup. Especially with powder, it just clumps up and doesn't apply properly...
TipI have no intention of repurchasing this.

My skin is particularly sensitive and often breaks out from sunscreens, and even in the summer, products labeled for oily skin would cause breakouts within a day. This is the only sunscreen I was able to use all summer without any issues. Before this, I had tried Cha-en-Pak tone-up, as well as products from Shiseido, Kiehl's, Hera, and Uriage. If you often experience breakouts from sunscreens, I would recommend giving this a try.
ConsThere is quite a bit of white cast, so applying a generous amount feels burdensome. The texture isn't the most smooth either, so I mixed in a bit of essence when applying. While the adhesion is good and the white cast sets in quickly, this can leave a textured finish. The ingredients also don't seem completely reassuring, so I had to deduct a star.
TipI would recommend this to those with very oily skin or those who consistently experience breakouts from sunscreens. If that doesn't describe your skin type, the ingredients, white cast, and texture may not be the most appealing compared to other options. But I'm personally very satisfied and grateful to have found this as my go-to product.

There were no particularly good points.
ConsEven though I tried to spread it out widely, it strangely became a bit sticky quickly, so the spreadability was not great. It wasn't sticky, but when I touched it with my hands, I could feel that something was applied (though it wasn't uncomfortable). My face became white, so I couldn't use it.

While the burning sensation did not allow me to use it for an extended period, I did not experience any worsening of my acne from using this product. If your skin type does not experience irritation, I would recommend trying it out.
ConsI have oily skin, and when I apply this product, my face feels uncomfortably hot, so I don't reach for it. The texture is not particularly smooth or easy to apply.
