The texture was slightly dense, with an ointment-like consistency and easy application. The fragrance-free formula did not feel burdensome to apply.
ConsCompared to other brands, it was not significantly more moisturizing. In fact, there was a slight tightness after application, and even as someone with oily skin, I felt a sense of dryness that lingered until the next day, almost as if the surface was coated.

My skin feels very comfortable and there seems to be a soothing effect as well. However, due to the low moisture content typical of Cica creams, you may want to supplement with a skin/lotion/essence/serum to add more moisture, and then lock it in with this cream. Most importantly, it's affordable and there are lots of promotions, so I think it's a great deal.
ConsHowever, as a daily cream that is likely to be used frequently, the low moisture content is a bit disappointing. I believe daily products should have higher moisture content, not just concentrated care products. So it's a good, but not great, product.

The fragrance is barely noticeable, which makes it inoffensive. I can't think of any particularly good points, but on the flip side, there aren't any real downsides either. It's just an unremarkable, comfortable product to use.
ConsIt absorbs slowly. The formula is heavy, leaving a residual feel, and it feels more oily than moisturizing. It's better suited for dry skin types than oily skin. It would work well as a nighttime application.
TipSkincare products containing ingredients that 'help' with skin regeneration and barrier strengthening are currently trending. Don't be swayed by the product name or advertising text - check the ingredients list to see if the included components are suitable and at the right concentrations for your skin.

Skin type: My skin does not have much acne or wrinkles, but it is thin and generally lacks moisture (especially in the U-zone). There is a slight redness on my cheeks, and a slight yellowish tone across my entire face. 2. Spreadability, fragrance: The texture is thick and creamy, similar to an ointment. It is not the most spreadable, so you need to be careful when applying it. I am sensitive to fragrances, and was initially concerned about the earthy scent, but it is almost fragrance-free. Personally, I don't like strong cosmetic scents, so this was a plus for me. 3. Absorption and moisturization: Many of the thick creams I've used in the past were slow to absorb and felt like they just sat on top of my skin. But this product absorbed reasonably well despite its texture. The shea butter made it quite moisturizing. After applying, my skin felt lightly coated but not at all stuffy or sticky. 4. Effectiveness: Brightening - After about 10 days of use, I noticed a slight improvement in my skin tone and a reduction in the yellowish cast. Anti-aging - I couldn't really see any effects on wrinkles with my skin. 5. Other: Volume - At 50ml, it's about the size of a regular sunscreen. At first I thought it was a bit small, but given the product's texture, you don't need to use a lot at a time, so this size is adequate. Packaging - The tube packaging is hygienic to use. The opening is a bit small, which can make squeezing out the cream a little tricky, but I actually prefer this as it helps me control the amount better.
Cons1. Since the product felt lacking in moisture, it's important to properly hydrate and apply it after a moisturizing step. Otherwise, you may experience a slight tightness. 2. The shea butter is one of the top ingredients, so those with oily skin should consider that before using this product.
TipI'm currently only using this functional product as a night cream. Since my skin is dry, I first wipe a cotton pad soaked in aloe vera toner over my face in the direction of my skin's texture. Then, without the cotton pad, I apply the toner 2-3 times to really let it absorb. (I may increase the number of toner applications depending on how dry my skin feels that day.) After that, I apply the cream in a thin layer and gently pat it in to help it absorb.

It's creamy, so I couldn't apply a lot of it at once. But I think it will last me a long time! The application is good, and even though it's usually quite oily at this level of creaminess, this one doesn't feel overly oily. If you're not very oily-skinned, you can probably use it without any issues. Even though it's a heavy cream, it doesn't feel like it's sliding around when I apply my makeup. And the ingredients don't include anything concerning, so I'm happy with it.
ConsCompared to others, it's not bad, but it does feel a bit oily for oily skin types. Since the texture is creamy, you'll need to give it some time to absorb. It works fine in the morning, but I found it works better if you use it in the evening when you have more time. It doesn't provide enough moisture, so I have to apply a separate moisturizer. And I'm a little sensitive to madecassoside, so if you apply too much at once, it can lead to breakouts the next day if you're prone to that. I've been applying it in small amounts to my problem areas and body.

After applying it, my face feels so smooth and soft - it's a great feeling! I applied it in the order of cleansing, toner, essence, and then the Cica cream. In the morning, before makeup, I followed the same order and then applied sunscreen and makeup. I didn't feel any heaviness or issues while applying my makeup. Also, I usually have an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, and by 4pm my face would feel dry and uncomfortable. But after using the Oyster Cica Cream, my face felt good all day! I've only been using it for about 3 days, so I'm not sure about the effects on wrinkles or whitening yet. I'll update my review after using it for a longer period.
ConsThe only downside is that the texture is a bit thick and sticky, so it felt a bit stuffy after applying. Because of this, I tend to use a smaller amount, and sometimes I'm not sure if it's evenly distributed on my face. If you have oily skin, this texture might be a bit heavy for you. It would be better if it had a bit more moisture.
TipAfter applying, I gently pat it in, and that helps it absorb well without interfering with my makeup.

There were milia the day before, but the next day they were cleared up. I applied the toner and essence generously, and then the eye cream. The oil content is just right for me. The texture was similar to the highly concentrated Huxley Cream. A small amount spreads out thinly and doesn't feel heavy or stuffy. The makeup doesn't slide off even when I apply it in the morning. The oyster seems to suit me well~ It doesn't make my skin look as white as regular tone-up creams. I'm not a big fan of tone-up creams, so this is great! Even though it's a 50ml size, it's not heavy, so it's good for carrying around.
ConsHmm~ It's a bit thick, but it spreads out well. However, I had to apply it carefully and generously. I applied a bit too much, so I felt more of an oily sensation than a moisturizing one, and my pores looked more prominent.
TipAfter working out and applying the toner, I just quickly slapped it on and the makeup went on well! It's lightweight, so it's convenient to carry around and apply lightly after exercising.

I personally dislike strongly scented cosmetics, so this was good for me. After washing my face in the morning, my cheeks felt soft and smooth. The texture is in between a balm and an ointment - slightly waxy. Perhaps because of the texture, I tend to use a small amount at a time. It's easy to apply in a thin layer. It gives a feeling of my face being perfectly coated. It doesn't make my face overly shiny or feel too heavy. As the weather becomes less humid and a bit colder, and the seasonal changes begin, I plan to take this out and use it again... For now, I want to use something a bit lighter...! It contains shea butter, but even with the thin layer I applied for the current weather, I didn't feel it was too heavy or uncomfortable. I had a small pimple around my mouth that had been there for a few days, but in the morning, it felt calmed down. It's hard to describe, but when you apply it, it has a glowy finish, but it also feels like the skin has absorbed it? It's not just sitting on top, nor is it overly shiny and coated, but it has this comfortable, absorbed-into-the-skin kind of feeling. I thought the amount was small, but the texture is quite dense, so I end up using only a little bit each time. I think it will last me a while. +) These days, my skin has been irritated and patchy due to not feeling well, like during seasonal changes. But after applying this and the hydrating ampoule religiously, the redness calmed down in just a few days. It didn't sting much, and it seems to be nourishing and hydrating well. So I'm adding an extra star! My skin tone has become more even.
ConsI was curious about the effects, so I cleansed with a micellar water, sprayed it twice with a mist, and then just applied this. But within two hours, my skin felt dry. It doesn't seem to provide enough hydration. However, if I use an ampoule or essence to quench my skin's thirst and then apply this thinly like a coating, the moisture seems to last longer. It may be a bit heavy for very hot weather. I noticed a red spot appeared around my mouth in the morning. My skin doesn't seem to be particularly calmed by this. But it does feel like it's creating a good protective barrier? I think it will be better when the weather gets colder and flakiness starts to appear.
TipMake sure to thoroughly mist and hydrate, and then apply this thinly. Overnight, you'll feel the lasting moisture. Using this alone isn't enough to fully hydrate.

Trial Reviewers' reviews undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis product was also reviewed by the Hwahae Trial Reviewers, but I purchased it with my own money. I had a good experience using the sleeping pack from the Oyster line before, so I decided to try the cream as well. These days, there are many products containing madecassoside, and this cream is one of them. It has a very rich and creamy texture when applied, and I feel like my skin tone improves after using it. I think the effects will be even better with more consistent use. The application is a bit tricky, but the best thing about this cream is that it leaves my skin feeling very comfortable. I don't wear it during the day, only at night, because it can feel a bit heavy and make my makeup slip.
ConsThe shea butter makes it feel a bit oily. It's not a hydrating, dewy kind of moisturizing, but more of an oily, heavy moisturizing. Those with oily skin might want to avoid this. It's marketed as suitable for acne-prone skin, but I don't think that's the case.
TipIt's not really a tip, but I'd recommend using only a small amount and applying it thinly. If you use too much, it can leave a greasy, white cast on the skin. It does get absorbed over time, but if you sweat, it can come out looking like a white, watery residue. The oyster ingredient is supposedly great for the skin, so I really hope it gives you that 'honey skin' glow!
