Depending on the person, it might feel slightly heavy, but others may appreciate its long-lasting power. I primarily use it during summer. Applying it with a flat brush instead of a puff allows for a more hydrated finish. Compared to newer matte foundations released post-pandemic, it has a thicker consistency, requiring a bit more control. I prefer foundations that closely match my skin tone. I usually opt for Neutral 23, but when I want a brighter look, I go for Pink Beige 23 or slightly darker shades like 21 or 22. This product is a true 23 shade, with a beautiful ivory hue that balances color and saturation well. While it has a yellow base, giving it a peachy undertone, it's not overly yellow and looks quite pretty.
ConsThe foundation sets very quickly, so you need to apply it rapidly. When using a puff, it can look too matte and may appear more cakey than when applied with a brush. Overall, this foundation requires some practice to master.

I was looking for a lightweight formula, and this is exactly that type.
ConsI have visible pores, so unfortunately it still settles into them...

It applies more moisturizing than Estée Lauder Double Wear, so I've been using it well this winter.
ConsI don't have any particular complaints so far, but I suppose I'll have to switch back to Double Wear foundation for summer, right?

It's definitely more moisturizing and has a thinner consistency that flows easily. It applies incredibly thin and light! Despite being a hydrating foundation, the staying power is still impressive - Estée Lauder really knows their stuff. The Sand color in this version has less yellow undertones and looks much prettier. In the photo, the shorter one is the original Double Wear, and the longer one is the Double Wear Nude. This new version even has a glow that you won't find in the original. Using a brush gives a thin, luminous finish, while applying with a dry sponge provides slightly more coverage. Even when layered, it feels lighter than the original Double Wear.
ConsWhen I first used it during the initial release, it was hot outside and I didn't like it at all. But now that it's cooler, I've started using it again and I love it so much that I'm retracting all my previous complaints! I have combination skin with oily T-zone and very dry cheeks. On hot days, while it doesn't completely break down, it tends to disappear from my nose and forehead, and the longevity isn't great. However, in this cooler weather, I'm 200% satisfied with how it performs!
TipIf you're buying this thinking 'I love the original Double Wear but wish it was more hydrating', you'll definitely regret it. I made that mistake. This is a completely different foundation from the original Double Wear. Think of it as a sheer, luminous foundation with a runny texture that gives a clear, radiant skin-like finish with lighter coverage. If you're used to the original Double Wear, you might find the transfer-resistance, coverage, and longevity a bit disappointing.

When my usual foundation was almost finished, I bought the Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup at duty-free (seems to be a duty-free exclusive). While Nude had some hydration and coverage, I wanted more coverage, so I got the original Double Wear. I mixed them 2:1 (original:nude) and wow - I finally understood why people call this their holy grail foundation! The staying power, coverage, and pore-blurring effect are absolutely amazing. When I applied it after just one layer of toner, it felt a bit tight, but after using the 7-skin method, it's absolutely perfect!
ConsAs great as it is, the lack of hydration means that dry skin types can't use Double Wear alone without experiencing significant tightness. You need to have a solid skincare routine and mix it with other products, which is a bit of a downside.
TipThe store recommended applying it with a brush, but I found that the adherence wasn't great that way. Using a cushion puff and patting it on gives better adherence and pore coverage.
