sk*********Dry SkinOct 12, 2017Wow! Registered just a day after I requested it! When it comes to essence products, this brand combines the power of earth and sky to offer incredible value for money. It's like the European version of The Ordinary. Both Europe and India have banned animal testing for cosmetics since 2013, so this brand doesn't test on animals either. That's great! Truth is, the raw ingredients in most cosmetics cost less than $5. The rest is brand markup, packaging, etc. When I was younger, I'd say 'If it's pretty, take my money!' But now I'm more price-conscious (assuming the ingredients aren't trash). These days, drugstore brands nail their color cosmetics, while some department store brands actually have worse ingredients in their export lines. I'd rather experiment with a variety of affordable products, so I hope these value-for-money gems become more well-known and don't get discontinued. This yellow concealer is a liquid type with great absorption. It's not greasy, but feels powdery without being drying. I have combination dehydrated skin that gets a bit oily in the T-zone during summer, and this is the best concealer I've used lately. I'm a cool summer tone (21 shade) with a deep undertone that's more pink than yellow. I have purple dark circles and redness/pigmentation around my nose and chin. This concealer evens out my skin tone so naturally that I've been going out with just this on. Everyone probably thought I was bare-faced! While salmon-colored concealers are common in drugstores, yellow ones are usually only in palettes. Thankfully, I found this at Watson's. Remember, purple dark circles need yellow concealer! I might try other shades later, but for now, I'm super satisfied with just the yellow one! This won't work for covering blemishes - that's not what it's designed for anyway. The only downside is that it's not widely available. I'm also loving their Essence contouring stick, I'll review that soon too. Go Essence! It worked well in other seasons, but dry skin types might experience some pilling in winter. Apart from that, it's perfect, so I'll give it 4.5 stars. When I didn't know better, I thought 'I have dry skin, so I need a moisturizing liquid concealer!' and kept buying them. But actually, dry skin often does better with pot or stick concealers that contain oils. Liquid ones have water, but it evaporates quickly and can be drying. 5 stars = Holy Grail/potential Holy Grail - buy it! 4 stars = Great! You won't regret buying it 3 stars = Decent if you have it, but no need to rush out and buy 2 stars = Wouldn't use even if I had it 1 star = Will toss within days
