☆ Eye Characteristics I have small eyes with thin double eyelids that don't suit heavy eyeliner or smoky looks. My eyelids are oily, causing most mascaras and liners to smudge. ☆ Current Products Kiss Me brush pen liner > Bobbi Brown gel liner ☆ Advantages -> Affordable price. Good ingredients. Adjustable amount. Brush pens tend to look less natural, and even the Bobbi Brown gel liner smudged on me. I only used it for subtle gradients, but it still faded over time. This Tony Moly gel liner, however, smudges less and is incredibly affordable. The case design is pretty, and it's convenient not having to buy a separate brush. The color is vibrant, and it's easy to blend with eyeshadow before it dries. ☆ Photos I've applied just the eyeliner on bare eyes to show the color payoff. As you can see in the right photo, blending with a dark brown eyeshadow after applying the liner creates a natural look. At this price point, it feels wrong to complain. If I had to nitpick, I'd say there's so much product that I've never used it all up? For those with oily eyelids like mine that are prone to smudging, always apply powder or compact on your eyelids first. Try to avoid cream eyeshadows to minimize transfer. Applying powder under the eyes before using the liner also helps prevent smudging. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 5, 2019
First off, the staying power is unbeatable. I used to use Kiss Me eyeliner, but it always smudged and drove me crazy. This one doesn't budge. It's smooth and... what can I say, it's probably the best gel eyeliner out there. Inevitably, as you use it, product builds up on the brush and it gets a bit blunt over time. But that's not a deal-breaker. If you clean the brush with makeup remover, it becomes soft and nice again. - qj******Dry SkinRecommendedJul 21, 2019
The brush is great! It's versatile, allowing you to draw thick or thin lines as desired. I quickly bought it when I heard it came with an extra brush. Turns out it's inside the main product, not separate. This is handy since cleaning gel liners frequently can be a hassle. Having a spare brush means I'll likely use it until the very end. I bought this new one after using the previous featherless gel liner, but unfortunately it smudges easily, which I don't like. I'm currently using a different Ara product that smudges less. Because the brush is so good, I also use it to apply darker eyeshadow colors. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedMar 2, 2019
As you can see in the photo, this product comes with a palette, which is great because you don't have to squeeze it out onto the back of your hand before use. I also love its attractive design. Apart from being a bit inconvenient to carry around, I don't have any complaints about this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 26, 2019
The color is vibrant and it applies incredibly smoothly. Plus, the case is absolutely gorgeous! For me, it smudged too easily and turned the area around my eyes gray. Despite cleaning the brush thoroughly, it dries way too quickly. You absolutely must use a primer and pat on a dark eyeshadow over it. The more intense your makeup, the less it will smudge - it's like magic! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinOct 24, 2018
First off, the ink pen-like design is absolutely gorgeous. It applies smoothly and creates clean, crisp lines. It's a significant improvement over the Tony Moly gel liner I used before, addressing many of its shortcomings. Unlike traditional brush pens that tend to loosen, break, or fall apart with use, this one stays firmly in place without any wobbling. I also appreciate the built-in ink well, which is super helpful for those who struggle with controlling the amount of product. I'm not sure if it's because I have monolids, but it smudges way too easily. After just a short time out and about, I'll check the mirror to find it's smeared all under my eyes, leaving dark smudges. Also, compared to thinner eyeliner pens, it's a bit cumbersome to carry around. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 15, 2018
The design is beautiful and worth collecting. It comes with a smudge brush. There's a reason it includes a smudge brush. Blending equals smudging. For reference, I have thick double eyelids. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 30, 2018
I saw many people using the black gel eyeliner, so when I heard it was on sale, I got curious and went to check it out. The staff recommended this one, so I bought it. I chose it because of the employee's recommendation, the waterproof feature was appealing, and the packaging was really pretty... I kept admiring it the whole way home, haha! First off, I haven't seen anyone else using this except me. And even though it's waterproof, it seems to smudge easily, which might be partly due to my oily skin. Initially, I used it to line my waterline too, but it smudged so much that I stopped doing that. Now I only draw the outer corner line, but even then, if I take a short nap outside or after wearing eye makeup for a while, the outer corner area gets all smudgy and dark. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 3, 2018
I've finally found the holy grail eyeliner for my hooded eyes! I was so frustrated before - everything would smudge on my lids. I'd heard about Tony Moly's eye gel liner but was skeptical. After all, every liner I'd tried turned me into a panda. But I decided to give it one last shot, and wow, what a game-changer! After a full day at work, I looked in the mirror before heading home and was amazed - no touch-ups needed! I immediately bought another one the next day. Please don't ever discontinue this product! There are no downsides! It's perfect. Please keep this in production forever! The two brushes included are great, and the gel consistency is easy to control. The pan design prevents clumping, making application smooth. It's these thoughtful details that really make a difference. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 26, 2018
1. Ingredients Unlike white gel, I chose this because it's paraben-free. While I don't necessarily break out from paraben-containing cosmetics, I generally try to avoid them. 2. Design The built-in brush is long, making it very convenient! I thought its unique shape might be awkward to hold, but it's surprisingly comfortable. There's also a section to dispense the gel liner, so you don't need to apply it on the back of your hand. It seems like an item that balances both design and functionality. I'm quite pleased with it. 3. Pigmentation and Application It applies well, without much difference from white gel. You can consider it almost identical to white gel products. 1. Smudging It tends to smudge a bit on me... Perhaps due to the oiliness around my eyes, I end up looking like a panda if I don't touch up my makeup... It's a disastrous combination when used with easily smudging mascara. 2. Drying Out It dries out quickly, so you have to make sure to close the cap tightly and clean the brush every three days... As someone who usually uses pencil liners, I found this a bit inconvenient. I always make sure to apply oil-control powder before doing my eye makeup.
