However, it gives me blemishes as a gift. At first, I really praised the amazing coverage. It completely hides all the spots on my face. It covers freckles, moles, blackheads, redness, and even stubborn blemishes. And it's quite matte. When I apply it over my base, it goes on thickly and dries down matte, which I think those with dry skin would really appreciate. For my oily skin, it wasn't overly matte. One bottle would last me almost a year. And just a tiny amount can cover my entire face. I've never experienced coverage this good before, but at some point, small pimples started popping up. Since I have a very sensitive skin, I just thought it was another breakout. But on the days when I wear makeup for almost the whole day or remove it late at night, my skin condition gets worse. Without fail, I would get one or two new blemishes on the nights when I remove my makeup late. If I reapply it too often, the pimples would become hard and inflamed. My skin isn't completely ruined, but whenever I wear it for a long time out or remove it late at night, it gifts me with two or three pimples, and that's when I realize it might be because of the Dermacolor. But the coverage was so good that I kept using it for over half a year, until I just couldn't stand the recurring blemishes anymore. So I tried a different product, and the breakouts stopped. It seems the mineral oil in this product doesn't agree with my skin. Despite the amazing coverage, I had to give up this product for the sake of my skin.
Cons- A product that gifted me with blemishes - Choosing the right shade is like picking a star from the sky - It applies matte, so it might be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of product (Of course, for those with oily skin, it may not be overly matte)
Tip- The coverage is so good that you need to be very careful with the amount! If you use too much, your face will look like a white rice cake. Remember that just a tiny amount the size of a bean can cover your entire face. - On days when it feels a bit too matte, mixing it with a moisturizer works great - not too oily, just the perfect balance. - Since it's quite matte, it's better to dab it on with a puff rather than swiping it on, which can make it look patchy. - For fair skin tones, I'd recommend shades 207 or 210. - I'm a warm-toned person and usually wear 22 or 23 for a natural skin-like finish. If you want a brighter look, try 211. For a more natural look, 218 is a good option. But 218 can be a bit too dark, so I'd recommend mixing 211 and 218 if you're in between like me! However, I've stopped using this now due to the breakouts...goodbye.
