The clumping was less than the mascara I had been using before, which I liked. The liquid also didn't seem to transfer too much onto the wand, which was good. π

The smudging was way too severe. :( Even when I yawned or rubbed my eyes a little, the mascara would only smudge a bit or not at all, but with this product, even the slightest touch to my eyes caused it to smudge terribly. π’

The freebie I received seems to be the right one, and it was quite nice. I used to use Peripera mascara, but it would always clump and smear under my eyes, causing a mess. But I didn't really feel any smearing with this one. However, my eyelashes may be a bit strange, or maybe it's just my heavy-handed nature (it happened with other products too), as they became spider-leg thick, and I sometimes had to break a cotton swab to remove the clumps. It looks much neater once I clean it up. But among the mascaras I've tried, this one applies fairly neatly.
Cons
The wand... is really big. About twice the thickness of the Peripera mascara wand? And a lot of product gets loaded on the tip, so I always have to wipe it off before using. The amount on the tip makes it a bit tricky to control the application, but despite the thick wand, it applied well.
