I bought this after hearing it's good for improving acne scars. I was torn between this and the popular Ascorbic Acid 8%, but chose this one as I heard it absorbs better. It has a serum-like, water-based texture. I'm satisfied with how easily it absorbs into the skin. I've only been using it for a week, so I'll update my review after using it longer! I was considering between this and Ascorbic Acid 8%, but apparently the latter is more effective. If I had known, I might have gone for the Ascorbic Acid despite its oily texture and slower absorption rate. - im**********Combination SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2023
It's affordable, so you can use it generously. Remember, vitamin products aren't meant to last forever! To see results, you'll need to use it liberally. I've heard that once you open a vitamin product, it starts to oxidize. - sj*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 9, 2022
Absolutely no irritation, lightweight, and absorbs well. It doesn't pill and I highly recommend it as an entry-level vitamin derivative product! The effects aren't particularly dramatic, but it's so easy to use that I can't really call this a drawback. - sy*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 12, 2021
#OSNT #OilySensitiveSkin #AcneProne #VitaminC #NightCare If you haven't had luck with Vitamin C before... give this a try. Such a gentle Vitamin C treatment at this price? You absolutely can't go wrong. Ascorbyl Glucoside is a Vitamin C 'derivative' that's said to be gentler than pure Vitamin C (usually Ascorbic Acid), though slightly less potent. Honestly, I can hardly tell the difference in effectiveness. I feel like my complexion improves daily... I only use it at night and occasionally take a break every third day to avoid potential irritation, but I've definitely noticed a reduction in discoloration and my skin looks noticeably clearer. It's just hydrating enough to prevent dryness, but won't combat deep dehydration, so I recommend applying a toner or light serum first to boost hydration before using this product. If this is considered one of The Ordinary's lightest Vitamin C products... I guess I won't be able to use Vitamin C in my summer skincare routine....... It has a slight oiliness that might be too much for oily skin types in hot weather. On the plus side, it's improved my complexion so much that I can now see pores I'd forgotten existed......... Darn it! Night use only! Only use at night! Unless a Vitamin C product specifically states it's been developed for daytime use (with sunscreen), always stick to nighttime application! - ki*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 9, 2021
This product is fantastic. I use exactly two drops morning and evening. It absorbs well and causes minimal irritation. As my face was looking quite dull with age, I visited a store and mentioned my concerns about pores and pigmentation. They recommended this, and I'm very satisfied with my purchase! It seems to improve my complexion and quickly fade acne scars and discoloration. If I apply more than three drops, my skin goes haywire. It's because I have dermatitis, unfortunately. So I stick to just two drops. After it's fully absorbed, it's great to apply a thin layer of emulsion or cream. It gives that healthy, radiant skin feeling. - mi****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJan 31, 2021
1. It's great that it doesn't cause any tingling sensation. 2. It slightly improves the appearance of red blemish marks. 3. It brightens the complexion and makes the skin look clearer. The absorption seems a bit slow, so you need to take time to ensure it's fully absorbed into the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 7, 2020
It's not sticky at all, and I've noticed my complexion has really evened out as I've used up the whole bottle. I'm already on my second one. I don't have any particular complaints. The only downside might be that vitamin C serums typically don't come in large sizes? I understand it's difficult due to oxidation issues with larger amounts, so I guess I'll just be repurchasing frequently! Use consistently both morning and evening - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 20, 2020
Slight brightening effect. Absorbs well. Gentle feel despite being a vitamin product. Doesn't leave a yellow residue. The scent might be polarizing. The effects aren't as dramatic as one might expect. Doesn't eliminate blemishes. - ch*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 5, 2020
Personal review to track skin condition Why aren't more people buying this? It's excellent for evening out skin tone, not to mention its brightening effects! I see many reviews saying the brightening effect is lacking, but I found it excellent for evening out skin texture and brightening. As I have sensitive skin, I also pay attention to any irritation or new blemishes. Since last year, I've been struggling with painful acne that wouldn't come to a head. This year, when I felt the same symptoms coming on, I started using this product, and the breakouts stopped in their tracks! This review is after using half the bottle. I plan to repurchase after finishing it, but I'll observe and record any differences during the break between uses. I'll attach before and after photos at that time. - ch******Normal SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedAug 3, 2020
1. Excellent texture despite being a Vitamin C product 2. High concentration of Vitamin C derivatives 1. Lacks other antioxidants 2. The Ordinary products often have issues with their caps
